Blog postSo, this blog got zapped. It’s entirely my fault. GoDaddy ported some of my hosted sites over to a new management system, Plesk, and their associated WordPress blogs didn’t move with them. I messed up trying to fix this one and ended up re-installing it when I shouldn’t have, irrevocably zeroing out the database and losing the customized formatting.
There wasn’t too much of substance lost; I mostly posted my convention programming schedules here.

Diana Chilton is unlike any woman you've ever met in fiction.
Born and raised in a secretive magical order in the 1920s, Diana's journey leads her from mastery as a magic-worker to pursuing the secret of immortality in 1952. Her quest ends at the isolated Maine house of Thomas Morgan, who was made a vampire by the Fae two hundred years earlier and who now seeks a magical solution to his fate. When he and Diana attempt to challenge the Fae by magic, they unleash disaster.
Now a vampire herself, Diana clings to her vision of a group of powerful magic workers who influence social and political change. She forms a coven with an old friend, Jack. When their efforts bring about catastrophic results, the coven splits up and Jack disappears. Diana sets out to find other vampires, and finally tracks down one using the name Troy Stevenson, living with a commune of close-knit friends in Massachusetts. Diana longs only for a peaceful life, but her work with Jack and the coven is far from over.
Powerful, independent, omnisexual, and a crusader for progressive change, Diana redefines "strong female character." This Kindle Exclusive special bundle edition includes the unabridged text of two full novels, The Longer the Fall and All the Shadows of the Rainbow.

All the Shadows of the Rainbow

$4.99
In the spring of 1955, new-minted vampire Diana Chilton rejoins civilization after the Fae boot her out of her self-pity, and meets an old friend, Jack Garrett, who recognizes her as a vampire. Jack proposes that he and Diana start a secret magical group and use their training and powers to manifest political and social change--exactly what Diana had wanted to do for many years.
With two other highly gifted magicians, David Hofstein and April McFarland, Jack and Diana form their coven devoted at manipulating and changing other people, using powerful magic and mind-altering drugs. As the years pass, April, David and Diana slowly begin to question the wisdom of what they're doing and whether they can trust Jack. After a devastating reality check in November, 1963, and with other interests calling each of them, the three quit the group. Coldly angry, Jack packs his things and disappears.
Left on her own, Diana follows clues she has been collecting for ten years and tracks down a vampire now using the name Troy Stevenson, but born Edward Tillinger in South Kingston, Rhode Island. He has joined a small commune of people starting an organic farm in a sprawling farmhouse in Sheridan, Massachusetts. The group accepts Diana and she joins their family. For the first time in many years, she feels that she has truly come home.
Over the next six years, hints and news trickle back to Diana that suggest Jack may be working alone on a scheme far beyond anything their coven had dreamed of. As Troy investigates reports from Brazil and the Philippines that he thinks may help them solve some of the mysteries of their vampiric condition, Diana realizes that she has unfinished business. She is forced to choose between accompanying Troy on his travels, and stopping Jack from an action that will change history and life as she knows it forever.

The Longer the Fall
Jun 1, 2010
$4.99
It’s 1952, a time of upheavals and social tension as America rockets through the years between world war and domestic revolution. Diana Chilton, raised within a secretive magical organization, the Order of the Silver Light, has reached a crossroads in her life. Over 30, her marriage ended, burned out on political activism and frustrated by the restrictions of the male-dominated Order, she leaves Boston for a tiny town in Maine. There she tracks down Thomas Morgan, a member of the Order who she believes may be immortal. She hopes he can help her find, or create, a more dynamic and worldly organization that will use magic to catalyze social and political change.
Thomas Morgan is indeed immortal, but Diana never expected that he would also be a vampire, transformed by the faery folk two centuries earlier when he made a rash bargain to cure a disfiguring illness. Now he enlists Diana to assist him in his struggle against the power that he feels enslaves and controls him. Together, Thomas and Diana dedicate themselves to the most ambitious and dangerous magical working either of them has ever attempted. Their plan spans two years and draws several other people into its vortex.
Both Thomas and Diana have hidden motives behind their decision, and neither of them is fully aware of who else knows about their plan and is subtly influencing it. Their refusal to be fully honest with themselves and each other leads to a disaster beyond their worst nightmares. They are forced to confront the deadly consequences of their fully developed spell turning against them and those who helped them. Ultimately, they learn that the only way to get what they each wanted is to accept the very things they wished most desperately to avoid.
