Inappropriately Yours (Camassia Cove Universe Book 4) Kindle Edition
Family Romance | Comedy | Age Difference | Standalone
A funny, spicy romance that follows a daughter on a quest, then continues with a father who’s very interested in finding out what his girl’s been up to with a friend of his. Neither could know that they’d both find their futures so far from home.
One novel, two love stories.
Isla Roe begrudgingly takes her father’s advice to go see his old college friend when her debut novel crashes and burns. Big mistake. Jack Grady—this friend of her dad’s who is an editor—is lethally handsome, and he absolutely hates Isla’s book. In short, Isla is…screwed.
Aiden Roe wants to see it with his own eyes. He wants to confront them and make a scene—that’s how pissed he is. So he heads up to Washington when his sweet, innocent daughter has been gone for too long, and he checks into a bed and breakfast and…doesn’t he know the stunning woman behind the desk?
This story takes place in Cara Dee’s Camassia Cove Universe, a fictional town where all books stand on their own, unless otherwise stated, and the reader can jump in wherever they want.

Jameson Grady to his brother, Jack Grady
Isla Roe, daughter of celebrated novelist, Aiden Roe, is headed to Camassia Cove, Washington. Isla, trying to follow in her father’s footsteps, crashed and burned with her first publication. Devoted dad Aiden comes up with an idea — send Isla to be mentored by his old friend, Jack Grady. A noted freelance editor, Jack should be able to give Isla some valuable pointers.
Jack’s not too happy about having to tutor Aiden’s daughter — he has some memories of her as a child, but he owes Aiden so he agrees to host Isla for a weekend. The lovely Isla arrives and she is not what Jack expected. Isla’s grown up into a delectable young woman, having a charm all her own. Jack manages to tamp down his guilt-ridden fantasies regarding his old friend’s daughter, but Isla, with moves worthy of Nabokov’s Lolita, soon has Jack eating out of her, er, hand. Naughty things happen and when Isla doesn’t return to LA after a few weeks, suspicious father, Aiden, heads up to Camassia Cove to kick some heinie.
Upon arriving in Camassia Cove, Aiden doesn't immediately head to rescue his daughter from Jack — Isla is, after all, an adult, free to make her own choices. Instead, Aiden opts to hunker down at the Cedar Inn and do some reconnaissance before the big showdown. Aiden, a widower of many years, is stunned when he recognizes the Inn’s proprietor, Chloe Nolan. It seems fate has plans to rock Aiden Roe’s world in more ways than one.
Inappropriately Yours is the fourth offering in Cara Dee’s Camassia Cove series. It is a standalone book, and you absolutely do not have to have read any of the other novels in the series to appreciate this story. Told in two parts, each with alternating POV’s, author Dee serves up an endearing and entertaining story about love and lust — past, present and future. All four protagonists are easily relatable to the reader and are well crafted. Part I of Inappropriately Yours seamlessly flows into Part II, yet each part could stand on its own as a complete story.
The appeal of Cara Dee’s writing is in her talent to craft flawed characters who heroically face down the raw fears that we all harbor — awakening in us all the desire to thrive rather than survive. While maybe not as gritty as her other works, Inappropriately Yours sends the same message: love comes in many forms, and it’s all good.
Four and one-half stars
Adult reading 18+
There were some parts that I didn't enjoy. I'm not an instalove type of girl to be fair. Those who are will love the combination between that and hot scenes. The instalove knocked it off half a star for me. However, I will say that because they are short stories I can understand going that route which is why only half a star versus a star deduction.
The storylines I felt were solid outside of instalove. I enjoyed the small amount of tension between the main characters in the first story (Jack and Isla). The story between Aiden and Chloe was cute but not overwhelming sweet--more endearing than anything, which I appreciated. With the fact they were short stories I think Cara Dee did a good job of adding an actual storyline versus just instalove and hot scenes. That is the main reason I'm giving 4 stars.
Character development was pretty good with the short space the author utilized but not to the level I expect for most short stories. That resulted in final half star deduction. I did love the world building more than character development. It really sold the town more and added some excellent brush strokes the picture.
4 stars. I'd recommend it mainly to those who are reading the Camassia Cove series. While everything is a standalone in the series seeing other characters pop up is always great!

of couples have sex so quickly that I didn't think it was all that hot. They didn't exactly meet and then have sex, but pretty much kind of did. Therefore, there was no sexual tension to develop and that made the (very hot, very descriptive) sex a little less involved for me as a reader. I loved the story, though, and believed the couples would be attracted to each other, so it's not like the author didn't write believably.
This was essentially two quickies mushed into one book. They were both enjoyable and hot, there were a few side characters that caught my attention *cough* Gray *cough* and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more Gray! I’ll probably visit Camassia Cove again ;)

This book tells the story in 2 parts which is really good as you get a POV of all 4 main characters so you get a real view into the story from all angles.
The main character Isla writes a book that has bad reviews .. her dad who is a famous author suggests she goes to visit one of his editor friends for some help... insert hot editor Jack!
After some back and forth between whats right and wrong re the age gaps.. the friendships of the older men etc this brings Adam into town to find out whats happening with his daughter an old friend.. he checks into a local inn and that an old neighbour happens to own!
Hence the start of new friendships or could it be more??
Id like to read more books from other characters in this story.
Isla, a struggling author goes to meet her Dads friend Jack, who will help her with her writing. Her Dad, Aiden follows her a while later when it looks like there might be more than just editing of books going on.
The book starts with Isla and Jack and boy is it hot and heavy! I loved it. When it got to part 2 where you find Aiden arriving in Camassia Cove I was disappointed, I wanted more of Isla and definitely of Jack. But in saying that I did like Aiden and Chloe, they were cute and there was a small paragraph or two where we got to hear a little of past Camassia Cove residents which made me giggle.
Yes, definitely a great book from Cara which now makes me want to reread all of her books.
I always love Cara's writing, this is another joy to read. The characters are all relatable and warm, Isla is adorable and really loveable. Jack is, well, very, very hot. I love their meeting, which leads to the story delving deeper into family, community and more love.
It was such a satisfying read. My only sadness -I could have read more.
In the first novella, Isla Roe is daughter of famous writer Aiden Roe. With her first attempt at publishing a novel is met with harsh criticism, she is left floundering and humiliated. To salvage what’s left of her writing career, she agrees to spend the weekend with her father’s friend Jack.
Jack Grady is a freelance editor and well renowned at demanding excellence. But he knows that he must tread cautiously with his best friend’s daughter even though her book is nothing short of rubbish. Expecting a confrontational weekend, he is greeted by a young woman, genuine in her shortcomings yet refreshing in what she’s passionate about. This ends up being a heady combination. An opportunity to take what they want because they can. Consequences to be considered later…
In the second novella, Aiden Roe has headed to Camassia Cove to retrieve his daughter Isla who hasn’t been home in months. She may be claiming to be working on a new book, but Aiden is convinced that there is more to this story. On a mission to gain the truth, a layover at the Cedar Inn, finds him running into a woman from his past, Chloe Nolan.
Chloe is a single mother on the cusp of turning 40. She may have spent the last couple of decades raising children, but she is not immune to the hot man, checking into her inn. And when he shows some interest and insists on dinner out, why would she say no?
This author did a fantastic job of combining two stories where Aiden and Isla find new beginnings. Definitely sweet and sexy!
