Review

Praise for Ina Pinkney, her restaurant, and her book, Ina's Kitchen:

"Ina's. . . is famous for the proprietor's breakfast specialties, such as the Heavenly Hots, sour cream pancakes served with fruit compote, and her spicy vegetable hash." —Brenda Fowler,
New York Times

"In this book Ina is opening up her kitchen and her heart to us by sharing her stories and recipes from her famous breakfast restaurant, Ina's. It's a diary, a confession, a legacy, a love letter, and a cookbook all in one. And no one does breakfast better!" —
Gale Gand, James Beard award-winning chef and author of Gale Gand’s Brunch!

"For all of us who are used to being fed well by our Jewish mothers, Ina's is a delicious comfort—as is Ina, herself." —
David Axelrod, Political Strategist, Institute of Politics, University of Chicago

"I always count on Ina's for fresh ingredients and the GREATEST PANCAKES on the planet!" —
Jim Rose, Sports Anchor, WLS-TV Chicago

"Ina Pinkney is an American treasure who has awakened in the early a.m. for decades to feed people her famous breakfast, always with a smile and pride. Delicious comforting food I want to make for my own loved ones." —
Chef Art Smith, bestselling author of Art Smith's Healthy Comfort and founder of Common Threads

"Part memoir, part cookbook, all heart. That's what [this book] is. If you think you're woman (or man) enough to cook like Ina, the recipes are here, but if you want the heart, you'll want the stories, powerful, poignant, and funny by turn, they'll keep you on the edge of your seat while you’re eating six or ten or twelve 'Heavenly Hots'." —
Sara Paretsky, bestselling author of Critical Mass and the V.I. Warshawski novels
