Install card, power up the pc, let windows install drivers, reboot, and then it was good to go
I bought this PCI-E card to add USB 3.0 ports to my aging Dell 620U desktop PC,
which only had USB 2.0 ports. My main goal was not just to be able to use USB 3.0 external drives,
but also to add a USB 3.0 network adapter.
The Dell 620 had an old 802.11b/g/n wifi card, and didn't support 802.11ac.
So the goal here was to install the Inateck card, get USB 3.0 ports, and then use the USB 3.0 port to add a 802.11 ac network adapter
- I bought a TP-Link Archer T4UH High Gain Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter (AC1200) for that purpose.
The Inateck card installed and works fine (I had some driver issues, but long story short, Windows 10 works with the Microsoft driver;
you don't need - and shouldn't use - the driver supplied with this card.
With the Inateck card and TP Link Archer wifi adapter, I'm getting ~84Mbps download/upload speeds with my Fios service,
which is nominally 75/75 Mbps, so the two upgrades to my old PC seem worth it :-)
Some notes on the power supply to the card for anyone who might need this info:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since this card needs more power than is available via the motherboard PCI-E connector
(in order to be able to charge devices connected to the USB ports),
it needs an additional power connection from the PC power supply.
The card itself has a SATA power connector, so if your PC power supply has an available unused SATA power output
that is long enough to reach the card in its PCI-E slot,
you're all set (this is the flat black power connector used for SATA disk drives/etc).
Otherwise, if your PC power supply has a free Molex power output (this is the old 4-pin white plastic connector with red/yellow/black/etc wires)
the card comes with an adapter cable that allows you to use that (PC power supply Molex out to SATA power in on the card).
The card also comes with a SATA power Y-cable adapter, that takes one SATA power-out from the power supply
and feeds it to two SATA power connectors - you could use this if all the SATA power connectors from your power supply
are already being used, or just as an extender to get some more length if the existing cables don't reach the PCI-E slot for your card -
which was the case for my PC. So that adapter cable came in handy in my case.
Drivers:
----------
My PC has Windows 10 installed.
This card uses a Fresco Logic USB 3.0 chip, and there's a CD supplied with a driver.
Long story short - Microsoft provides a Windows 10 compatible driver that supports this chip, and you don't need the old Fresco Logic driver that is supplied here.
After installing the card, with the SATA power connection, and booting up, the card was recognized and showed up in Device Manager,
but the USB ports were not functional. I installed the driver from the supplied CD (Fresco Logic USB 3 driver, 3.5.106.0, dated 1/9/2014),
and tried to restart the PC - but Windows didn't power down all the way, it remained stuck showing a message saying: "Getting Windows Ready".
Eventually, I powered it down, but the same prompt appeared after restarting it. Tried multiple times, no luck.
I finally took the card out and powered the PC back up - no problems now.
I tried updating the driver using Windows Device Manager Update driver - which claimed the driver was up to date.
I went to the Fresco Logic site and found an updated driver version for the FL1009
but it wouldn't install fully without the card being present in the PC (and I'd take the card out so I could boot ...)
Eventually, I put the card back in, and powered up, and this time, Windows detected the card, and installed its own driver
(it's called "Fresco Logic USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)" version 10.0.14393.0, dated 7/15/2016),
Now the card is working, and the USB 3.0 ports are fine.
For good measure, I deleted the other driver (use Device Manager, view hidden devices).

Enthalten ist die PCI Karte selbst, ein SATA power <-> SATA und 4-Pin <-> Sata-Power, Eine Anleitung sowie eine Treiber CD.
==| Verarbeitung |==
Auf den ersten Blick lassen sich keine Mangel bei der Verarbeitung erkennen. Einzig die Kabel könnten eventuell ein wenig länger sein.
==| Verwendung |==
In meinem Fall musste keine Treiberinstallation erfolgen.
==| Pro - Contra |==
==| Fazit |==

It runs mine perfectly, when even the built-in (Asus) motherboard USB 3.0 was incompatible with the Oculus.
Why they made the Oculus so damned picky defeats me, but at least this card solves the problem. It even has a standard USB 3.0 internal front header socket, so if your case is so equipped, you can plug the front USB 3.0 ports into this, instead of the motherboard socket, giving you 7 ports in all, 5 at the back and two at the front.
But Windows 10 Pro 64 bit customers take note Amazon sell it as compatible win everything up to and including Windows 10!
What they don't tell you is that the drivers on the disk are not, and Amazon will only offer you a replacement or refund!!
Contacted Inateck as their Web site like their Disk does not have a working Driver; and three days later I had an email from them with a link to download the correct drivers:)
Why don't they include this as a small note with the product and also why does Amazon not have this link on there sales web advert and give their Customers support and cut down on returns??
I've already got numerous usb devices plugged in to my pc on a more or less permanent basis: steering wheel, button box, joystick, gamepad, keyboard, mouse, & sometimes an external drive, so I wanted to be sure I had USB ports available that could cope with the Rift's devices.
So I bought the first of these cards a while back specially for the day I would eventually get vr, and I am not disappointed. The Rift and its two sensors worked perfectly when plugged into the first of these cards.
But my room space is long and narrow, so in order to use both the sitting area in front of my pc (for racing/flight sims) as well as the space next to it (for standing/360 experiences), I bought a third sensor.
Although the Inateck has 5 slots, it was asking a bit much to expect the headset and all sensors to work in the same card (actually it did work, but I got occasional amber warnings, so it wasn't 100% consistent), so I bought a second identical card, as recommended by Inateck.
Today I fitted the second card, switched the pc on, and as soon as I plugged the third sensor into it & ran the Oculus setup, it registered all devices without any trouble. (I might even try a 4th sensor in the second card at some point in the future).
There are cheaper cards out there, but I've bought cheap ones before that have failed to do the job & wasted my money. This card is good quality and good value. Comes with necessary cables, use whichever is needed to plug it into your psu in order to get full power to the card. Driver disk included, but was not needed for Win 10.
(Windows 10 64bit, Asus Z80K motherboard, i7 4770K, R9 Nano, 24GB Ram).
I've tried using USB 3 hubs but they simply can't handle the bandwidth of 3 cameras plus the headset.
There were no instructions to speak of, and you have to screw the mounting plate to the card. I got the wrong screws for this the first time, but it was OK in the end.
It plugged straight into a spare PCie socket with no problem.
You need to know that you MUST plug in the SATA power supply to it as well.
Unfortunately the SATA power lead that comes with it is very short and I had to buy an extension to get power to it.
When powered, it was automatically detected by Windows 10 and it works perfectly for my Rift setup, all ports running at USB 3.
I did not use the driver disk that came with it., I suspect the drivers are out of date and I definitely didn't need them, so don't use it :-)
Very pleased with it - but as I say, it definitely needs to be powered!
