Incandescence by Xunaira was a very unique love story that takes place in Pakistan and in Canada it sheds light on another countries cultures. I found the writing to be very good, I felt the author drawing me into her story wanting more. It took me a day to read the book. I could not put it down I had to keep reading because it was so inspirational. There was no violence in this story. There was limited sex in the book. The narration was alternating between the characters; Alisha and Anis.

The story was a captivating story about a beautiful girl named Alisha Khan who just graduated college and has a very successful software house business. Sadaf, who is Alisha’s best friend helps her run the business along with Sadaf’s husband, Shahmir. Alisha is very devoted to her work. Alisha is a very strong and confident person at the beginning of the book and then when she is working late one night when the electricity goes out in her building and so Alisha lights a candle and uses her laptop to continue working and ends up falling asleep. Her office catches on fire from the candle and she manages to get out alive Alisha ends up with second degree burns on the left side of her body from her head to her feet. She is in the burn clinic for a period of time trying to heal from the burn. Alisha ends up becoming self-conscience about herself and does not have the confidence she once had. Then Anis, a friend of Shahmir’s appears in the story again and helps Alisha heal from the inside out. Anis believes that she is a beautiful person regardless of the burns. Anis has a passion to wanting Alisha and to help her get back to being a strong person that made me want to keep reading to see how devoted he could be.

I learned so much from reading this book about other cultures.

Alisha Kahn seems to have it all. Youth and beauty, a flourishing career, devoted friends as well as a close-knit, loving family. But her life changes drastically when a fire breaks out in the office building where she's working late one night. And suddenly Alisha's life is no longer so perfect. Her face and body are scarred, her her confidence shattered, her future uncertain.

One of the things I really loved about this story is how, during her whole healing process, Alisha had such a strong support system. Not only from her friends and family, but also from an unexpected source - Anis Mughal, a face from her past. The handsome entrepreneur baffles Alisha with his unwavering devotion, as she struggles to accept that she is deserving of his attention. After all, she is physically flawed and in her mind, disfigured. Anis, on the other hand, has his hands full trying to persuade the stubborn Alisha that she is still the same beautiful, strong woman that he remembers.

This is definitely not your typical love story, which is what makes it so unique. Also, it's set partly in Pakistan and partly in Canada, so the locale descriptions are colorful and engaging. If you enjoy inspirational romance with a heartwarming message, then I would highly recommend that you give this one a try.

Alisha “Liz” Humayoun Khan (narrator), & Sadaf Ahmed (Alisha’s BFF/classmate), had just walked across the stage at the Convention Center (Islamabad) with their College degrees in hand.
Fast forward Sadaf & Shahmir Ali Awan (MBA, NUST) were on their honeymoon in the Cayman Islands.

Alisha (CEO, Design Soft Technologies) was working on & developing a huge project in Dubai.
Sadaf, Shahmir, Saad Aslam (Marketing), Sarah & Samina Ashraf (receptionist), work for her.
Later Alisha ends up in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) at NESCOM hospital.
Weeks/weeks later she was finally released.
Would her life ever really be the same again?
What is Anis Mughal (UCLA, MS engineering, family hotel business) role?
Design Soft Technologies; Design SoftTechnologies?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written Western culture romance book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great Western culture romance movie, or a mini TV series. Wait till the ending. I liked it so I will rate it at 4/5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a fast-paced love story that was really romantic and sweet. I liked the dual POV and even at times there were other character's POVs. I found that very interesting to get to see the story from other character's eyes. I like Anis a lot. He is one of the best male-leads I've read about in a while. He is so kind and caring, but also has that possessive bad-boy attitude I think every woman wants a little. Alisha goes through so such a tragedy in this book and it really changes her, but Anis sees the real her which makes it a great romance to me. He never gives up on her and accepts her for who she is. These two have incredible chemistry together and it starts from the moment they meet.

I also really liked reading about the different cultures in Pakistan. Xunaira was very detailed in this book and I learned a lot. I don't want to give too much away, but the end of the book was very descriptive in the way certain things were done for a certain event. I liked reading about that. This was just a beautiful love story and well written with very few errors. It was a little predictable, but I still thorougly enjoyed it!
