From the Manufacturer

Don't let the small size fool you! The NEW INCRA Miter V120 puts high-resolution, repeatable accuracy within the budget of every woodworkers. An incredible 120 angle stops are laser cut into the steel protractor, with a stop available for every whole degree and two special stops at 22.5 Degrees for cutting eight-sided frames and mouldings. All of that precision is built into a sturdy, no-fuss package that's compact enough to fit machines where other miter gauges can be a tight squeeze, such as band saws and disc sanders. All-steel construction makes it an excellent long-term investment, and it's also upgradable as your needs change - the V120 can be equipped at any time with any IncraLOCK miter gauge fence and stop. The steel miter bar is equipped with four patented GlideLOCK adjustment points for a perfect, low-friction fit in a wide variety of machines using a standard miter slot. As with all INCRA crosscutting tools, a removable T-slot retaining clip is included, and the adjusters are accessible from the top for quicker set up than traditional miter bars with side-mounted adjusters.

I ordered the INCRA MiterV120 Miter Gauge in June 1013 and the seller was Amazon itself. The quality of the steel the gauge is made with is good in my opinion given its price point. It was thick and did not feel flimsy to me at all. However that GlideLOCK Miter Bar Expansion Disks system needs some work. There is a YouTube video titled "INCRA Miter Gauge - Complete Version" which is made by INCRA the company whose YouTube account is named "incratools". About 2 mins 35 secs into the video they show you how to adjust the GlideLOCK system and in the video it adjusts like butter for them. However when I tried to make the adjustments on the gauge I received it was no where in the vicinity of being easy to adjust at all. The instructions you receive with the gauge say the screw you turn to expand the plastic washers requires a lot of torque by design. No way was it made for the torque I was having to put on it to barely turn the screw and even with the little bit of movement I got, there was seemingly no effect in increasing the bar width. What is supposed to happen is you turn the adjustment screw clockwise. When you do this it pushes down on the plastic washer which has a cut in it. As you crank the screw down the washer begins to split apart at the cut in it. As the washer splits apart it starts to bow out more and more which is what increases the width and allows you to remove any play in the bar when it is inside the track. On my gauge nothing was happening when I cranked down on the screw. It got to the point where I could tell the screw head was going to strip. Anyone that has stripped the head of a hex screw knows what I am talking about - there gets to be a little bit of play in the screw head just before you strip it out with the hex wrench.Read more ›

The MiterV120 is Incra's latest entry into their awesome Miter Gauge line. The precision is incredibly accurate, and once adjusted for perfect 0 degrees, you won't think twice about setting an angle in the stops ever again. The slide is micro-adjustable to fit whatever slot you are using it in without any play or wobble.

I have Incra's Miter5000 sled system, and the MiterExpress. I use the V120 with the Express sled, and on my bandsaw for absolute angle measurements that are always accurate to the Nth degree.

Incra's Customer Support is second to none in my experience. (I own a LOT of Incra products). If you need assistance, they are there and will spend whatever time is necessary to answer your issues or questions.

Well worth the money and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The miter gauge is top quality as I have learned to expect with products from INCRA. I did discover one thing about the gauge. If it is cold weather and it arrives very cold, let it warm up before trying to adjust the miter bar width. The little white disks are just too stiff when cold to expand properly and might cause damage to the screws or the hex key. I was too anxious and almost broke the thing before I thought about the cold causing the plastic disks to harden. Lucky for me the key and the screws are made with quality materials.

The basic design "concept"is good. The product can not be adjusted for precision work as designed. The plastic rings can not be adjusted as designed. I had to make a deep notch in each ring to expand the adjustment. The vertical section for holding the wood piece to be cut has a high point in the center. I had to add a strip of wood that was releived in the center to correct the 90° setting.

The miter guage works excellent after corrections.

It does accurate angles. I find the cheap construction of the bent head disturbing like others have and I would like to see a machined part here also. Under the head is a plastic glued on pad that catches the edge of your table top if you back it off to that point. It hangs down about 0.030" below your table top which makes a bump when you push it forward. Why wouldn't that be made level with the table top? It can be made to perform as advertised but they don't seem to care about these other details. I say this because people have been complaining about the construction of the head for years and nothing has changed. It works but overall my opinion is "meh". It's pricey for what you get.

*After further examination I found that the rail does not drop all the way down in to my table's miter slot. The miter slot on my Dewalt measures about 0.400" deep. The far end of the rail rests the bottom of the miter slot while the head suspends the rail 0.030" higher on the other end. This causes the head to be out of square with the table top which will result in bad miter joints. It also caused the bump at the table edge that I described in the above paragraph. I looked at my other miters and they all have a slightly raised head to compensate for small variations in table tops. The only solution for this is to shim the bottom of the miter or the miter slot. (if you found a better solution please leave a comment) We should not have to deal with these types of problems to use this device.

I bought this for a router table and it's okay for that. The bar fits and the gauge is nicely sized for the smaller table. I don't like it on my table saw. It can be tweaked as noted in other 3-star reviews but like everyone else that noticed I don't like the fact that the fence on INCRA gauges is not reliably square to the table and shimming with paper is bogus. The (horizontal) plate moves up and down as you tighten the handle and it varies by angle. I'm lucky that it's square when tight at 90 but it's off 2 degrees from vertical at 45. There's probably some combination of force/shim/washer that would get it square at 90 and 45 but people shouldn't have to deal with this and INCRA (Taylor Design) should care. Sadly my TS gauge is not acceptable so I'll continue my search and probably end up with a JDS or Woodhaven.
