First, there is NO way you can increase your SAT reading score significantly with just 3 minutes a day... unless you've been studying for 10 years!!
More importantly, this book is filled with generalizations about strategies to use, but give little to no specific examples. Only 25% of the book (which is already very small) is practice questions with explanations. The rest contains reading strategies and test-taking strategies. Again, there are VERY FEW concrete examples of how to apply either type of strategy.
Overall, if you're looking to improve your critical reading skills, there's really no substitute to just practice, practice, practice in both reading and doing exercises.
You're better off with either Barron's or Kaplan's SAT Critical Reading Workbook. I also recommend Princeton's dual Reading and Writing workbook. However, McGraw Hill has disappointed me again, first with its 50 Skills for SAT Reading and Writing, and now this book. Don't get it. You're better off with something else!
