Overall I enjoyed this book but found some of the details and descriptions overkill. The author went on and on and on in certain parts when it really was not necessary. Could have used a bit of editing to cut it down. I also thought that Jake was a bit of a spoiled brat. Yes, he respected her wishes about sex and waited but he was so childish about it at times. By the time a man is thirty and truly in love there should be a certain amount of maturity. You hope! I was glad for the happy ending in the book but felt bogged down with all the descriptions and details. Page after page describing wedding flowers and details. I kept saying to myself "come on just get to it!" I do confess I skipped a few pages due to the endless descriptions and details. I would like to see this book with less detail and more meat. I was glad to see both of the main characters grow up some during their time apart though. I wanted to smack both of them a few times! The wealth of Jake and his family seemed un-realistic in the story in my opinion. Again, overall I enjoyed this book. I liked the fact that Emily stuck to her convictions and found true love in the end.

This book was choosen for our book club and we all found it very wordy, and perhaps more personally we were very very annoyed by the characters immaturity and horrible relational boundaries and communications skills.... All that being said if you are into silly fluffy books then maybe you'd like it - but it wasn't my style.

This book seems to be written for 15-19 year old girls. I really wanted to like this book after reading alot of reviews but I could not seem to bring myself to keep reading. I tried multiple times to continue reading but then another really unrealistic scenario would unfold and I found myself saying "give me a break, get real" I mean I know it's a book but there is no way that a 30 year old woman is this flakey and a grown man ( A Doctor no less) is this forgiving. It was just too many things that no sane person (not even in a romantic novel) would do. I can picture a 16 year old girl acting the way this 30 year old woman, Emily, did. I can't say enough how dissapointed I was that it kept going so over the top with unrealistic scenarios that eventually I just put it down for good. In short, the characters behavior did not reflect the age. Even the words used by the characters seemed like a teenager, I can understand needing to build suspense by putting them in situations, but not on every page. The book never seemed to advance. It was like watching a horrible movie that you just wanted to end.

This book has sentences of interest followed by paragraphs of boredom. Pages and pages of boredom. Way too much detail in areas of absolutely no interest. Why I didn't put it down is beyond me. I would not think of bothering with any more of this authors books.

I'm having a hard time with this review because 1 I couldn't even finish the book because it was soooo booring and 2 because I have never disliked a main character as much as I dislike this Emily chic. I can't say that I have ever just stopped reading a book before. No matter how bad they are I can usually tough it out just to see what happens but with this book I honestly don't care. The main character Emily has to be the most obnoxious and ungreatful character ever. Jake should take his ring back and dump her on her butt ASAP! She deserves Max the loser. There are way too many unnecessary details in this book and they repeat the same lines and conversations over and over. I feel really bad writing a not nice review because I normally only write reviews on books I really liked but this one was bad enough that I wanted to warn people.

This was a very nice story. By nice I mean it's impossible that everything and everyone was SO nice to each other. I've never known anyone who would say "I miss you" to someone they've never met and only talked briefly to on the phone. Nor has anyone I know continually miss someone they so desperately want to talk to. Also, the characters, whether wealthy or not, live like money is no object as they purchase things on a whim. It is obvious that the author wanted the readers to know that she is a foodie by naming Michelin 3 star restaurants in various cities and describing the food served. Lastly, everything bad or sad that happens in this story inevitably turns lovey dovey in minutes because someone says "I love you". I lost count as to how many times those three words were used in the book! By the end of the book I started to skim just to get to the end.

I kept reading hoping this book would get better -- it doesn't -- I love reading -- and the characters have no depth- and are unbelievable. Jake is childish yet Emily finds his behavior adorable when he pouts and doesn't get his way!! Seriously?? What woman would find this behavior " adorable" -- I too skipped pages of unnecessary description-- just skip the whole book!!

Wow....I tried to read the whole book. I just couldn't do it. It seems to me like a 16 year old wrote it for 16 year olds. Don't waste your time...
