I've been waiting for this film to get to DVD ever since I saw it in Universal City at the Cinema City International Film Festival. It won "Best Feature Film" and many of the cast were there walking the red carpet.

This movie delivers on many levels, great story, good for family (I'd say PG-13), beautiful setting near the California coast, and terrific acting. It's a sleeper as it entices with the cool exterior and mystique around an antique Indian motorcycle, and carries a powerful punch through its moving, and finally uplifting story of a strained father-son relationship. The love story between the two young actors also heats up the screen, as well as the music by Dishwalla.

I give the film 4-stars only because it lacks the special effects and polished look of a multimillion dollar blockbuster, but that should definitely not dissuade you from seeing this awesome story. Don't just listen to me, here are some of the awards this Indy film has received:

Best Feature - Cinema City IFF
Best Screenplay - Breckenridge Film Festival
Best Ensemble Cast & Best Newcomer (Matt Dallas) - Monaco Film Festival

I highly recommend it too!

I really liked this film by James R. Gorrie.

What really hit home for me in this movie is that most every relationship between the characters was broken seemingly beyond repair. I don't want to give away the plot and the ending, but what I loved was that through a mutually shared interest for motorcycles, the film's protagonists were able to at least begin to let each other back into their lives. And then the necessary trust began to rebuild and repair those relationships. The fixing up of an old motorcycle was a nice metaphor for the fixing up of the bonds of family and loved ones.

The acting was solid and there are beautiful scenes of the coastline and the ocean that made me want to go out and visit California immediately!

I recommend checking out 'The Indian' for yourself.

'The Indian' is decent for an independent film. It's a story about rebuilding a relationship with a loved one. It has a little "romance", if you want to call it that but focuses more on the father and son. The movie doesn't really have anything to do with the bike if that's why you're watching it.

The Indian was rewarding and time well spent. The film keeps the viewer wanting to learn more about the central characters. The Indian is well scripted, crafted and visually appealing - depicting teen angst, the bond of family and redemption with a "twist". Kudos to filmmaker James Gorrie!

This is one of those movies that you have to give a chance. I only went 3 stars because it took a long while to get to any meat. I am a matt Dallas fan and wish he would do more but he hasn't done much since that TV series he did. It is a story of forgiveness and reconciliation. The motorcycle is what brings some lost people back to each other.

I bought the movie because I like Matt Dallas. The movie had a fairly generic story line, but was still entertaining. The acting was good over all and Matt Dallas' character was very endearing. I purchased this movie because it received great reviews. I was not disappointed.

An ok drama that starts off a little slow. This is about a father who left his son when he was young but know needs help that only his son can give him. The motorcycle is pulls the the father and the son together and gets the son a girlfriend.
