I have included pictures of the product I received. I ordered 5 of these at the same time. They all have the new silica that changes from Orange to dark green which is the safe kind. However ordering 5 of these at the same time I got 2 different products. All were the 40 gram version but the stamped directions were different for half of the order. The canisters carried with temperatures and times that are stamps on them to recharge them. Heck a couple of these came stamped with one set of directions but a completely different set of instructions on the package.
Then there is the quality of assembly. One of these came with he silica actually falling out of the space where the two halves of the stamped case were coming apart. All but one of the canisters were put together so badly that I anticipate that they will not last long in my tool box.
There are many places to get a quality version of this product. This source is not one of them.
I've repaired the ones I have with JB Weld because it is not worth sending them back while my tools rust in he garage due to the rainy spring season.

The ones I received are in clear packaging with just some inventory labels on them. They're not marked pelican anywhere on the case or packaging nor is the pelican product number on either.
I Cannot speak of the function of the silica or the recharging ability of them as I've not had them long enough. What I did experience is 20,000 silica beads spread through out my camera case. These are not "rugged" or "durable" as stated in the listing. I placed one of these among camera equipment and lenses while packing for a trip. I zipped the bag. Then un-zipped it deciding to take a different lens. I went to pick up the descant container to have it fall open dumping the contents of what felt like 20,000 silica beads through out my lenses and camera body.
I examined the other two that I purchased and they're easier to open then a box of altoids or sucrets. Amazon was amazing in resolving the issue. The box needs to have the halves crimped together. If they weren't shipped in a vacuum sealed bag they would have arrived split open.
The first one I got was dented due to it being placed in another box with a larger heavier item. FYI, this is just packaged in a clear plastic pouch, not a box or padded envelope. I got that exchanged as it looked like the metal canister would pop open at any point.
The second one which I currently am reviewing arrived saturated (green) despite being in a sealed pouch, and I had to bake it to restore it. I placed it in a small SentrySafe with some papers. I open up the safe today to find that the durable metal case has popped open and all the silica gel beads are loose in the safe.
I don't question the quality of the silica gel itself but the metal canister is absolutely junk, since both the first and second ones I received didn't do the job.

These come in a clear plastic sleeve, with a generic white label that claims 'pelican'.
They *look* convincing, except I happen to have bought a couple of the real packs locally. The real ones come in a foil pack (actually blocks moisture so they store well), and the real ones change color when they are saturated.
I was in a hurry when these arrived, so I threw them in a small slr waterproof camera case. A week later, I removed it an noticed the slight dampness / condensation I put it in with hadn't dried like it would with real-pelican models (It's a tiny case, each of these tin containers is rated for ~3 ft^3).
Only then did I do a side by side and notice it's a knock off.
Also, I put it in the oven (per directions, 300F) for 5 hours (directions say only 3), and it never did turn back blue (pink=needs refreshing).

-4 stars for build quality - I took it out of the packaging (a plastic bag) and noticed it was almost coming apart. And then a second later, it did come apart, dumping about 1/4 of the silica pellets out. I'm going to be finding those in cracks and crevices for years. I will not trust this brand to protect my equipment.

Colour-window is made of scratch-prone, cloudy plastic and effectively requires the lid to be removed to check the current colour.
