The characters are witty, fresh, and alluring—I fell in love with them right away. Yes, including the diva, Indigo. She has a quick intelligence and is wholly believable. My head is still spinning that she’s only fictitious! She’s likable and I find her life rather fascinating. Julian is the reporter I’ve mentioned. He’s levelheaded and compassionate as well as analytical. No airhead greedy writer here!
There is more to this story than a simple socialite and a handsome journalist: The story’s tone changes completely by the second quarter of the book. Without giving away any details, I was disillusioned with the sudden feel, but because I like Indigo so much, I pressed forward. If only the summary of the book had mentioned even the slightest hint of this change, I would not have been jolted from the storyline. Admittedly, I had set the book down, but it called out to me and the situation eventually grew on me as the original feel of the novel remained woven throughout the book. The change became an integral part of the plot.
There is a sequel, Azure, but it’s yet to be released and I look forward to reading that one as well.
Do I recommend this book to friends? Without a doubt!
