Product Description

Indus Organics 100% Organic Mace

Our vision at Indus Organics is to provide healthy organic food to everyone.

Indus Organics provides 100% certified organic products for retail and bulk wholesale. Our product processes are monitored and certified by internationally accredited certification agencies.

We promote biodiversity and sustainable organic farming techniques. Our farmers have not used chemical fertilizers, chemical pesticides, or genetically
modified seeds at any of our plantations. We offer products that are grown in natural and sustainable environments without disrupting the native ecology. Indus Organics procures organic products from thousands of environmentally-conscious farmers before processing and worldwide distribution to satisfied customers.

Properties of Mace:

Mace comes from the same plant as does nutmeg, Myristica fragrans. Nutmeg is the seed of the tree, whereas mace is the dried "lacy" reddish covering (aril) of the seed. Mace has a similar flavor to nutmeg, albeit slightly less sweet and more delicate. Mace is sometimes preferred in light dishes for the bright orange hue it imparts.

Indus Organics Mace is grown by farmers in Sri Lanka

How to use Mace:

Mace has a flavor described as a combination of cinnamon and pepper. It is often used in baking to flavor cakes, puddings and desserts, as well as cheese dishes, soups, sauces, poultry and fish. Mace figures prominently in Indian, Caribbean, Moroccan, Asian, Dutch, French and British cuisine. The whole mace can be ground in a spice or coffee grinder prior to cooking. A mortar and pestle would work admirably also.
