Miss Rodriguez wants to break her engagement because she despises the man her aunt has picked for her. But her aunt is determined to have her marry.
Mr. Aguirre, the guy her aunt pays to follow and thwart her, becomes more than she bargained for. If she wants to thwart her aunt, why not marry him herself?
It was great seeing their marriage of convenience become something more.
Graciela Rodriguez is engaged to a man picked by her aunt to help the family factory. Graciela does not want to marry him so she starts to try to ruin her reputation. It isn't as easy as it should be. Her aunt hires a bodyguard to keep Graciela out of trouble. I loved the idea of a woman trying to circumvent the restrictions that are so common in historical romances.
After reading this novella I bought a novel by the same author and set on the same island. I'm looking forward to reading more.
🌸Set in the Caribbean
🌸Afrolatinx heroine (my queen)
🌸Argentino hero (my baby)
It was SO good. It's kinda short and I wished we could have seen more of Graciela and Vicente's relationship, but what we see is adorable and lovely. Graciela is a badass and Vicente is the softest lover. Their relationship grows quickly, yes, but it's wonderful: all built in mutual admiration, respect, and honesty.
I would've liked the heat level to be a little higher and the resolution much longer but none of these take away from the great storyline. It needs a bit of editorial polish but none take away from the enjoyment of the reading. Will be picking up more of her titles.
I'm gibbering, I know. But ugh. So much love for this book!
