So many shades of gray. So many groups claiming to be the ‘good guys’. The Chain. The Brotherhood. But what about truly caring for all the people in Ms. Ingleby’s dystopian London?
This second book in The Wall Series was amazing! I love a gritty, nuanced post apocalyptic dystopian novel and this did not disappoint.
The story resumes with Aleesha and Trey as they are confronted with the consequences of sharing their stolen information. Knowledge may be power, but only if presented and used in the right way. Things are not looking good for either The Ousiders or The Insiders. Deeply buried secrets are still being revealed. Revenge and betrayal lurk around every corner.
But the worst is yet to come; will our flawed, yet lovable protagonists prevail?
This was so good. Mystery, action, suspense, and a slow (very slow) burn romance. I loved how much more backstory there was for the cast of characters. The moral quandaries really made you think about how you would react in circumstance that could happen to any of us. The character development was excellent and just the general story kept me turning pages to find out what would happen next. I’m so happy to have received an ARC and am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.
If you are a fan of Red Rising and The Hunger Games, grab ‘Expendables’, book #1 in The Wall Series to see how it all started!
I received an advanced copy and I enjoyed it so much that I want to review
