This is without any doubt the most meaningful scifi/fantasy I`'ve ever read, and I`'ve been reading them for more than 50 years. The reason, I think, is the soul and the fact that I agree with every one of Will`s decisions throughout his fascinating experiences. One can identify, mourn, fear, and love right along with him. It could have ended with "So. Are. You." And been a very good novel. Extending it to "Engage" made it a great novel. This is proof, one doesn`t need swords and sorcery, inter galactic battles, has been Seals saving humanity, or gamers murdering everyone in sight. One or two great characters and a single POV with "Intelligent Imagination" is all one requires.
Thanks for this wonderful adventure, Jeremy Robinson, you are my new author of choice.

This book encapsulates everything that I love about science fiction. There is so many great ideas, interesting twists, thoughtful perspectives packed into this story. I found myself surprised at a particular twist more than once, and after reading science fiction for so many years, surprises are pretty rare. Usually I just go on to the next book on my list, but this one had me thinking and contemplating some rather big questions for days after. I have recommended the book to my circle of friends and I have no doubt that I will go back and read it again one day. In the meantime, I guess I had best look into the other works of this gifted author.

It seemed like an interesting premise: a man wakes from suspended animation on a runaway colony ship to find himself mysteriously immortal and the only survivor of a brutally murdered crew. The story starts to go south quickly, however. The ship is described as travelling faster than light, but this is immediately contradicted (the ship has travelled 1400 light years in 10 years of shipboard time while 1400 years have passed back on Earth. Fast, but a quick computation makes that 99.997% lightspeed. Relativity, who knew?). Also, his newly immortal body is able to stay active, for years at a time, without input of food or drink. There are occasional moments of evocative description, but they do not save the story.

Not recommended.

I've never read a post apocalyptic story like this. Calling it that is actually a stretch but I can't think what other genre it would fall into. Intellectually tight, plenty full of action, intriguing characters and an end I never saw coming combined for my 5 star rating. A great read!

This was a very entertaining read. I can't say too much without giving important details away, but if you enjoy sci-fi exploration and time bending stories, you will enjoy this book. There are multiple twists and turns along the way, all of which increased my interest as I read. Its my second Jeremy Robinson book (also read and liked "The Distance"). Both were compelling, but in no way similar.

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written, it had main characters - human or not - who were believable and worth rooting for. I enjoyed the premise, and had an idea the way it was going to progress, but I was totally wrong. There are several twists in the story and I enjoyed them all. I read the book in 2 days and was sorry when it ended. I really do highly recommend this book! This was my first Jeremy Robinson book, and after finishing it I went back on Amazon and bought "The Didymus Contingency" and will start it tonight. .

I will most likely be demonized for this but this was not my favorite Robinson book and I have followed him since Pulse in 2009. In fact, the first half bored me to tears. Yes, lots and lots of self discovery and tons of great thoughts and discussions on life, space, technology, and the human mind. Wow, boring. It was easy to see the differences between the first half and second half of the book. When it came to wrap things up, it comes quick and efficiently. Not much surprise. Sorry, I know many loved this book like a new bible but it was not for me. Looking forward to his next one regardless. I love this author.
