The prospect of writing a sequel to INFINITE (my all-time bestselling novel) has intimidated me for years. Sequels are tricky business, especially when the first book is so positively received. There's a lot of pressure to capture the same magic, to offer the same surprising experience. I was certain I'd never write a sequel, but readers made sure I never stopped thinking about it. Eventually, I came to the realization that INFINITE2 needed to continue Will's story, but it didn't need to feel like its predecessor. In fact, it would be better for the reader, and for Will, if I didn't try to repeat the same journey of solitary torture and surreal discovery. As a result, INFINITE2 is a different kind of story, not just a continuation, but an evolution capable of standing on its own, rather than in the shadow of its predecessor.
