Installed these in the rear facing gun wall of my boat so we could listen to music while floating around in the water. They have been in now for about six or seven outings and have handled the elements and splashing from LAKE water quit well. Sound reproduction is very good. I am running a SONY Marine Stereo System with a SONY Marine 400 watt amp. The stereo originally set up in my boat had six (6) speakers attached to the one SONY Marine Stereo System and it would struggle at higher volumes. I added these two to make eight (8); however, I hooked up a button switch system that allows me to only run four (4) speakers at a time, now with these and the original six (6) I can only run four at a time , the problem at high volumes has been eliminated. Highly recommend these speakers.

When shopping for some boat speakers I was looking for something decent with a good price. With these infinity speakers I didn't get just decent, I got awesome! The fidelity and clarity from these speakers is so much better than I expected, I am overpowering these speakers with about 150wrms each and a 12db/o high pass of about 130hz (yes this is pretty high) and I am able to push my amps to near full output for hours on end without any issue from these speakers. I am not demanding much bass from these speakers in my setup but they do produce a nice warm bottom end if needed, but I have found the real world "power handling" of these speakers is greatly comprised when adding too much bass and too much volume. This, however, is true for just about every speaker of this type in any brand, deep bass is for subwoofers. The tweeters are mounted in the grill giving the woofer cone a full surface without a hole in the center wich helps These 6x9s produce awesome mid-bass "punch". This is a must for a balanced system, they aren't shrill or peaky sounding, I auditioned a lot of marine speakers before choosing these and the only marine speaker that had noticeably better quality was the JL components at over 3 times the price.
I would like to add that this review is intended to provide personal critique for these speakers to be used in the cabin or deck of a boat, NOT a tower. I would not recommend the use of these speakers in a wakeboard tower speaker setup. This is simply because these speakers aren't designed for such use. I have never heard any speakers like these (coaxial driver with a dome or cone tweeter) sound good in a tower. This is simple, the sound from these speakers radiates in every direction, which, if you are near the speaker will give the listener balanced accurate sound from almost any direction that has line of sight of the front of the speaker. This is ideal for a cabin where it is likely that the listener will always be within 10 feet of the speaker. In a wakeboard tower, the listener may be extremely far from the speaker, by the time certain ( generally higher) frequencies reach the listener, they have dissipated so much that the sound is extremely "tinny" and cheap leaving awkward vocal range sounds to the listener, completely different from what they sounded like in the cabin.
The answer to this is to use a tower speaker that has a compression horn tweeter. These are expensive, but THE way to go. Also compression drivers are way more efficient than standard coaxials requiring less power making your battery last longer. A number of companies make speaker systems like this such as wet sounds, nvs and a few others, kicker makes a great entry level setup the kmt60.
So to recap, if you are looking to put tough great sounding waterproof speakers in the cab/deck of your boat, in your car or truck or buggy or whatever at a great price, look no further! Buy these infinitys and give them plenty of power. Oh, and if these speakers just happen to be over your budget, save up and get these infinitys, they are 10x better than any marine speakers costing less.

These speakers sound amazing in my boat. Great quality. Great sound. No issues. I paired two of these with 2 of the 6.5" just like them on a Kenwood KMRD765BT Marine CD receiver. 2 Thumbs Up

This is my second pair of Infinity 6x9's. The first pair were the white Infinity Kappa 6902M speakers. I was surprised the size is not exactly the same, but close enough to fit in the same speaker holes, but the screw placement was different on the new ones, the 6912m's.
If you haven't heard these yet, they are very much a 2 way speaker. There are a few mid frequency's that are occasionally lower volume than I would expect. But only on certain songs and I'm probably the only one who notices, because I'm really listening hard. But overall, I'd say these are the best 6x9's I have heard. And Certainly the best marine 6x9 speakers I have ever heard.
I crank them up, no subwoofer, and they shake the boat pretty hard. Running a Rockford Fosgate P600X4 Punch 75w x 4-Channel Amp to drive them. They take the power very well.
My last pair were still working, but after a couple of years exposed to the elements, it was time they were replaced. I liked the old Infinity Kappa's so much, I bought these as a direct replacement. These don't say Kappa on them, but they should, they sound exactly the same to me. I love them. Happy Birthday to me!

These speakers replaced the non-marine ones that were in boat. The DTI were great price and put out a really clean sound, I also installed a Rockville amp that really pumps the music out. would definitely recommend.
