Before reading this I didn't feel able to work out a clear plan to promote my writing, despite having read more than a dozen books on marketing and self-publishing. Now, I feel like I can see my path, have a list of websites to get started with promotion, and have a lot of ideas for extra things that might not have occurred to me. I don't think being bold comes as naturally to me as to Gundi, but her advice makes me feel as though it's doable, even for me.
Many other books assume the reader has an established platform, but this book has practical solutions for a raw beginner, even if you don't have a solid idea of what you are doing. To get you started, she gives you some ideas about how to "Model what works" using your own unique style and voice. The clarity and casual tone of the writing is like a friend explaining what works and what doesn't in a positive, helpful way.
It took me a while to read the book because I kept stopping to check out the links, make notes and lists, and work on a spreadsheet for my marketing plan. While reading it I've reworked parts of my author website and blog, and created an email header with a tagline. I think this book will help a lot of people. I feel like it already has helped and inspired me.
The author provides a lot of valuable resources with many names that were unfamiliar to me. I had trouble accessing the author’s links because they aren’t available until a few more days, but I will refer back to this book often for the simple fact that I can work on one step at a time. I like to read a book first and then go back through it slowly following the steps.
I also liked her take on focus. Trying to build influence can eat up your time with so many platforms to choose from. I have found myself feeling overwhelmed with little time to fit it all in. Her approach seems a lot more manageable and DOABLE!
I have followed this author for several months and have followed her principles which have helped me get where I am at. Her pink books caught my eye on Amazon (and they were only 99 cents) and I’ve been a fan since. Her books and videos have literally walked me through my business venture.
I’ve also seen her apply her principles with her business. She shares what she has personally nelly done herself. It’s awesome to have her insight on how she has become successful. She tells a lot of her secrets. If you want to become a best selling author and build influence then this book is a must read and reference to have on your desk!
One exercise that caught my eye was to create Avatars of my ideal Clients and their need(s). So eye-opening. I bookmarked that section of the book (as well as many othr sections) in my first read through and was the first thing I went back to when I finished reading. I've begun to create two avatars. two audience members to keep in mind. I can see the difference in my focus already.
"Influencer" is aspirational. Creating an avatar was something small and immediate I could do; Gundi, however, offers advice on going all the way: how to achieve really high levels of influence on the public stage. While the ideas seem scary now, at least the seeds are being planted, you know

I found quite a few new ideas which I can apply to my own blogging and potential business ideas, and I would recommend the read to anyone. However, I'm dropping a star off (should only be half a star) because the structure in the book doesn't allow you to easily move along a six month path to implementing. Although there are sub-headings aplenty, the narrative moves around from idea to idea a lot, and if you are trying to work out how to implement a major idea, you may find - as I did - that you will be bookmarking some passages, yet stumbling to go back and find that one idea piece you read previously which you suddenly think relevant. Structurally a good end of section checklist or action points may have been helpful. Other than that, the book is written with exurberance, is quite quirky and full of ideas,so I will be re-reading as a reference and taking closer notes in the future.

Utile per acquisire delle conoscenze base sull'argomento, liberarsi di falsi miti, ricevere qualche buona dritta su come iniziare. Ovviamente, si parla del mercato anglofono, che è molto più ampio e dove certe cose sono notoriamente più facili che in quello italiano, ma è davvero un libro breve che si legge in un attimo e che comunque propone un po' di spunti interessanti.
Before Gund's "Fast Track from zero to Influencer", i have been reading lots of books about Internet Marketing, Network Marketing and so on, but none of them have been really helpful to me.
This book though is totally different, because in this one is shown ways to succeed.
She knows how to explain complex matters in an easy and entertaining way.
I found this book special as the first part describes the best practise of her former books plus the top of the top working with influencers and become an influencer on your own. The work needs to be done AND it seems all worth while.
