The reason for the 4 star is because this new version has a blue light on the sensor to indicate a button press. All previous models that I've purchased from this seller did not have this. The blue light to me is an annoyance more than a plus. Other than that, this is a great product.
I have a Samsung TV and it was a bit difficult to get the remote control to use an IR signal, but this is not a function of this product. With a Samsung TV that has a One Remote, be aware that the tv can use radio or IR signals. To get this IR extender the remote and tv must be using IR signals! Do a web search to learn more about how to get the One Remote use use IR signals and this product will work well.
THIS one is a million times better and well worth the price. It doesn't matter what angle you point the remote at and you can be well over 5 feet away unlike the other garbage ones. Works great with the xfinity hd box we got and I couldn't be happier. The only thing missing was an adhesive sticker of some sort for attaching to tv but that's an easy thing to come up with.
