Short Description: This laser temperature gun is excellent for a great variety of applications. The temperature readings are very accurate as I have e tested against other devices. The gun is very simple to use, I simply press the trigger and release to get the temperature read.

I can easily switch between F and C with the click of a button which was an important factor for me. I love that the device came ready to go with batteries and everything. The LCD screen is bright and easy to read and the device turns off automatically when not in use to save battery life.

The battery door is VERY difficult to get open. Designed to hinge but I had to use a jewelers screwdriver to pry it off...almost broke it. Instructions are weak in information. In order to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit you must hold down all three buttons and pull the trigger. Instructions don't tell you that and took me 20 minutes to figure out. I will say it does work well and seems to be consistent and very accurate when compared to my other instruments. Yes I would buy it again as it is a very good value for your money.

I have been a plumber for 28 years, love to work on cars, repair Apple products and repair PC motherboards. I have wanted one of these temperature guns but they were very expensive until recently. I did not know what to expect with this one based on the retail price. I was skeptical.
I open the package to find the temperature gun, instruction sheet and 2 heavy duty AAA batteries. The battery compartment opens around the trigger and has a hinge at the bottom to fully open the door. I install the 2 batteries and now it is ready to use. I start to play with it and pull the trigger to realize it is showing celcious........ Time to read the instructions. So press and hold the Mode button to go back and forth for Fareinheit or Celcious. You can even choose a minimum or maximum temperature which I use in car repairs to make sure I do not exceed a needed temperature. This temperature gun is capable of 716 degrees.......Wow. It has a simple to read LCD panel that even has a backlight feature when needed. It shown min and max temperatures, low battery signal, buzzer volume and laser signal. This temperature gun has more uses than I need but they are all there. The gun is very lightweight but is made of a hard plastic. It has held up well for all the uses that I have put it through. It is very accurate. So far, the only thing I did not like are the heavy duty batteries. I switched them out with alkaline batteries.
I am very happy with this temperature gun. This gun would do very well for the average user. I will not be using it every day but I know it will work well when I need it.

Yes I would buy it again as it is a very good value for your money.I purchased this IR temperature gun to see if the thermometer on my 3d printer was working and to see if there are any issues with my 3d prints. In comparison, this temperature gun is inexpensive and does the job, the competition for this gun often costs double or triple what this gun costs. So I think that the Ougilay gun is a great value and for me it does what it needs to do plain and simple.
I don't have any reliable way to check and see how accurate it is. But, it seems to give back temperatures similar to what I would expect based upon what temperatures I am checking. The buttons and display are simple and easy to use which is a bonus in my book. It takes two AAA batteries (not included). You can turn on the back light for the display or turn it off. You also can turn the laser on or off as well. You can toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit by holding down the mode button for 3 seconds or so. Overall I am quite happy with it so far. Really my only recommendation for future improvements is that looks and feels a little on the cheap side.

I was given a discount for an honest review. But, that did did not affect my review. It works and is simple to use, but it feels a tad light weight and cheap. Overall though, it is reasonably priced and seems to work well.
