Stop wasting valuable time. All you need do is tighten your bow. Why waste valuable time getting your instrument setup... Then waste more time afterwards putting it away? That's time you could have spent playing or practicing. With Ingles' String instrument stands you're always good to go! Got 5 minutes? Spend it playing! You'll find yourself playing and practicing more than ever before. Worry-free, locking stands are ideal for home use, but also great for schools and gigs where safety is of primary concern. Fully adjustable stands fit all instrument sizes.

It has what appears to be a rugged, powder coated finish. As advertised, it will hold your instrument without having to remove the shoulder rest, should you use one.
There is a heavy duty plastic lever that swings down over the neck yoke. This keeps the instrument securely locked into the stand. The lever is easily operated with one hand. The lever is placed such that it is easiest to use with your right hand, which is perfect, allowing you to grab the instrument with your left.
My only complaint would be that it is low to the ground (just as it appears in the photo). Because of this, you probably don't want to leave it standing alone in the middle of an open area, where someone could trip over it. I use two if these when playing, and keep them right near my music and mic stands, so that they will not be able to get tripped over.
Warning -- do not use any violin stand at all if you have a cat or dog which can come into the room where the violin is resting on the stand. The stand does have a lock to help keep the violin on the stand but it would be very easy to knock the whole thing over if a dog or cat were in a playful energetic mood.
Pros: Solid construction, heavy enough and low enough center of gravity for stability, has a gate to contain the neck, easily collapsible for travel, shows off my strings proudly.
Cons: the legs could lock into place for better stability. Also, the frog of my bow tends to wedge tightly on the bow hook. The bracers at the bottom were a bit too curved and didn't accommodate my chin rest and shoulder rest causing my fiddle to sit crookedly, but once I straightened them out a teensy bit, the instrument was able to sit nicely.
Overall, I really like this stand. I would recommend this highly. If you hate having to dig your instrument out and put it all together before practice, then you should buy this and save yourself some time.
