The book was almost a three year wait, I absolutely love the other books and the characters are dear to my heart, by this point I would say I have read them all at least three times in anticipation of the finale. Was I disappointed? Unfortunately, yes. I thought this one was full of adventure and lots of much needed answers....however, I'm a reader who likes a good conclusion, a strong epilogue and Amy Bartol doesn't like to provide that. At all.
I've rooted for certain characters, and for one in particular and I feel that character never received a true HEA. There's always too many questions, always too many things in the way.
So I didn't whole heartly love the book as others have, I was a bit put out by the WTH is that suppose to mean ending? Does any of her work actually feel finished? I think the fans are due at the very least a Epilogue Novella because I for one am tired of feeling like I have no closure with her writing style.
In conclusion, I feel like I'm left longing for a true finale to this love story. I give Ms. Bartol her due that she can write her butt off and I loved to hear from all my characters again...however the ending is once again a bit open ended, inconclusive and has a unfinished feel. Don't get me wrong worth reading for sure, but be prepared to not have that deeply satisfied feeling from a good epilogue that wraps up your story and gives you closure to say goodbye.
I need a finish. I need an end. She does not provide this.
I unfortunately can not read any more of her books until a series is finished and I can see from reviews that it is a complete ending.
So no more Amy Bartol for me.
This series are my all time favourites. There would never be another one like this, there would never be another angels but this ones. I love all the gang with all my heart. Thank you Amy, for brining them in my life, for telling their stories, for sharing their love with all your readers. This Premonition series are inspiring in so many ways. I hope one day, there'll be a novella, an afterword for what will happen next, so that all your fans won't go made, hanging on this cliff ending )
****Spoilers**** Like Brennus's little story, leaves the impression there will be more books and if that's the case then in totally down with that but , if not it just leaves your mind reeling wondering what that's supposed to mean. Then there's the fact that Reed has been there for months watching over Evie and she doesn't ever feel the butterflies. Oh and then there's the whole reason why they are there in the first place because of what Reed did to Emil when he was human, she explains away what Alfred did to Uncle Jim saying he persuaded humans to do it, but I guess she forgot the whole 7-11 incident where Gaspard and Cade kill all those humans. Reed is her Gaurdian angel but can't go to shoel to protect herbut, when Z asks if he can go with her sometime, she's like ya sure. Evie still stuck between Reed and Brennus. This could have easily been a 5 star book with a good ending. Hopefully we'll see some more to give us the clousure we and these amazing characters need.
Iniquity finally answers all the questions we have been asking throughout the series. We learn how Reed, Bren and Xaiver are drawn to Evie and how they all play a part in her mission. We also finally understand why Evie was created.
As the pieces start to fall in place we begin to understand the choices Evie has made through out the series and the pull that Reed and Evie have together.
Throughout the series Evie and Reed have needed to fight for the love every step of the way. There always appeared to be someone or something to prevent them from being together. What we get in iniquity is a maturing love. We see Reed and Evie trust each other completely and start to work as a team no matter what is happening.
As the past, present and future collides in the epic conclusion, their is one final battle with between Shoel and Heaven that requires Evie, Reed and the whole gang to work together in order to complete Evie's mission.
