5 amazing stars
If there's one thing that i can expect from Kailee Reese Samuels when she writes a story, it's to find an adventure that i never expected. To fall in love with her characters over and over again, and to finally get another piece of the puzzle that i didn't know i was missing. I thought i knew who Sal Raniero was, where he came from and the type of man that he was, but The Initiation takes on his story and how he got the opportunity to become a member of Juliet. I also got the chance to find who the important players at Juliet were since i had met a few in the Juliet novel but didn't really know how much of an impact they had, and trust me, they have the biggest impact ever.
4.5 sexy dreams
Sal loves women. There's no denying that. But the way that Kailee Reese Samuels describes him, you finally understand why he loves them, and it makes sense. You can't help but get closer to him and be curious as to why he's more than willing to hide his relationships that impact him the most. Of course, you also get curious to find out what happens to these relationships because, if you've followed my reviews for Kailee you know i read her books all helter skelter, they seem to disappear for a while. Then again, you also know that something stronger happens between Kaci and Sal - their story just isn't over, because trust me, their chemistry doesn't come close to what he has with either Selene, Kate or Anna.
The way that Kailee Reese Samuels explains the many aspects of BDSM makes it beautiful, makes it real and that's what it is. Yes, there are things that so many don't understand, but here we have an author that breaks it apart and makes it easy to get it, to really get it. I finished this book a week ago, and had to step back to think about my review because it's getting increasingly difficult to truly describe how i feel about these books because sometimes words don't seem to be enough. I wish they were, but it never seems like it can accurately express just how much i love her books and i know that i'll be following her for as long as she keeps writing these amazing stories that you can't help but want to be part of their lives (and of course, if possible, i would follow her even after she stops writing, just to find out how and where she gets her stories... stalker free of course ;) )

I still have a hard time with him feeling like he could fall in love with so many women at the same time, but in this book, he seems conflicted about it at least; whereas in "Juliet", he seemed to be "in love" with everyone for different reasons and that bothered me.
I would love to know more about how he even came to Texas, how he found Kate, and why he even decided to take her collar. It still seems odd to me that he's be allowed to be trained or used by other dominants when he's collared by someone else. Makes being collared not that big of a deal, when in reality, I know it's a very big deal in the BDSM world.
So much more to know about these characters! I can't wait to find out more in the subsequent books! I'm sure there will be lots since there's so much to delve into with these characters.
Kailee really knows how to write these people and they all seem very real. We learn more and more with each book and begin to figure each one out as we go. I think it'll be a long ride, but I'm in baby!
Can I say that the author has a way with words?
Once again, I'm in love with the blurb and the story. Although I did not quite enjoy The Initiation as much as I did with Juliet, I still think that Sal's story is engaging and interesting.
To be honest, I did not manage to finish the book on time for my tour stop, but at 70% I'm confident to say that the author's writing was the reason I am loving the story.
Highly recommended to erotic romance lovers looking for a great read!
This book revolves around Sal and his history, and how he gets involved with BDSM and the Juliet school. There are many of the characters in here that are also in Juliet and you learn a lot more of their history too and how it relates to Juliet, and pieces of information fall into place as this becomes apparent and you can see how it relates back to Juliet.
This is Sal's initiation into Juliet as a submissive, where he has to show them that he is worthy, and has to pick 2 Doms out of the 12 that are there and go do a scene with them.
I really enjoyed this after reading Juliet - you get a bit more history and a bit more understanding of the characters. I love Sal and his bad boy rogue image, but he is such a slut, even though he has his reasons why, I still love him!!
Again this is a recommended read if you have read Juliet, you will get so much more out of this if you have. I look forward to reading more books by Kailee with these characters going forward.
