* The XL fit my size-14 feet very well
* the large fit ok, a bit squeezy but not problematically so
* the medium fit a friend's 8.5 just fine.
I did mistakenly put my first set in the dryer several times before I read about how you are supposed to air dry them. That was totally on me though, Injinji states this very openly; air dry the socks.
That make the little toe pocket shrink to the point it cut off circulation and became painful to wear. Lesson learned, follow the instructions and air dry these socks. The pairs that have never seen the dryer fit wonderfully.
I'm now a convert of toesocks. They look goofy but they feel great in my running shoes. I'm only running 10 ~ 12 miles a day, 4 or 5 times a week in them. On days I have to wear my non-toesocks I can definitely tell a difference in comfort. Socks are a personal thing so YMMV but for my feet, these toesocks are the best!

I have tried a lot of cheaper toe socks but they often are uncomfortable around the toes or ill fitting.
The Injiji socks haven't given me any trouble so far (as I said it is my third pair and I am using them for over a year now).
As a general comment: you need to get used to wearing toe socks. The first few times I felt like I had a foreign body in my shoe but kept persevering as I like wearing flipflops and they are great when the weather is a bit cooler and now I love them.... much prefer them over other socks.
