The war is over. But a new battle is about to begin.
After years of conflict and carnage, Batman and his rebel allies have finally triumphed over their tyrannical foe, Superman. Now the Man of Steel is behind bars, and the Dark Knight holds the future of the world in his hands.
But that future is about to slip from his grasp.
Superman still has many friends who will work tirelessly to free their leader from captivity. And a new force is about to emerge from the shadows. A winged warrior is assembling a Suicide Squad of the world’s most dangerous villains to pursue plans of his own, by any means necessary.
And this man in black is out to claim the mantle of the Batman himself.
As old foes and new enemies collide, can Bruce Wayne preserve the fragile peace for which so many heroes have sacrificed? Or is a new era of injustice about to dawn?
From the acclaimed creative team of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo, INJUSTICE 2 VOL. 1 collects INJUSTICE 2 #1-6.

But this sequel series, which takes place between the first and second Injustice games (Injustice 1 sequel? Injustice 2 prequel? Injustice interquel?), is an awesome return to form.
Tom Taylor is back, all cylinders firing, as he introduces more DC staples into the Injustice World (the Suicide Squad, Ras Al Ghul, Blue Beetle), and Batman struggles to create a new, stable world order after defeating the tyrannical version of Superman.
The beginning of the series is admittedly a little clunky. There is a lot of quick setup to get major pieces in place and introduce the main conflict between Batman and Ras. But there is no doubt that the magical synthesis that Taylor worked the first time around is here again. Little moments, like Black Adam interacting with Kara, a single-issue story about Booster and Blue Beetle, and even little cameos from Vixen and Animal Man together (I am a major Animal Man fan for reasons I won't get into), show Taylor's prowess with using DC's rich history in refreshing but logical ways.
If you even remotely liked the first series, or have any curiosity about this alternate DC universe, I definitely recommend jumping into this one too.
The big problem for me is it doesn’t feel fresh at all. It just feels like I’ve stepped back into a world that should have had a conclusion. Superman: Red Sun is one of my favorite DC stories but I don’t think it would have worked as a continuing series. Injustice 2 exists because Injustice 2 the video game exists. In Injustice 2, Superman is now kept as a prisoner at Stryker’s Island, held in check by red sun rays, while Batman tries to put the world straight again. We have a new force causing problems, being gathered by a man in a Batman costume who’s fighting skills exceed even Bruce Wayne’s. Harley Quinn is, among others, recruited by the faux Batman and oh God, what is the obsession with Harley Quinn. I understand Quinn is a fan favorite but why do people want her on their team so desperately? She’s an unpredictable loose cannon with a big mouth and no super powers. She meets the leader of the new faction and headbutts him, knocking out several teeth. BUT, he’s gotta have her on the team because…. uh… anyone? And this was after she ALREADY spoiled one mission when she nailed teammate Deadshot in the head with her baseball bat. I don’t know if it was mandated to Taylor that he put emphasis on Quinn but he’s a better writer than this. Harley Quinn fans can send me their hate but I can’t stand her.
Tom Taylor’s biggest talent is his incredibly clever dialogue and in that respect he is the best I’ve read besides Alan Moore. He’s also capable of creating those moments where you sit back and say, ‘daaaaaaamn’. Taylor’s even takes some hilarious pokes at some of the overused tropes of DC comics. I don’t think that the problem here is Taylor’s writing per se. The problem for me is that the concept of Injustice is just played out. To me it just feels like, ‘here we go again’. This may very well be my first and last volume of Injustice 2 as there is a lot of other stuff out there from DC that I would prefer to spend my time and money on. I will say this. This is probably the most well written series I ever gave up on. I wish they would give Taylor a new assignment because he is a top talent.
A great story.
Great art n inking n everything else in the pages
Of this volume.
Sincerely yours.

Let’s talk about the real star of this comic, Harley! With Joker gone, she’s latching on to Batman and calling herself the new Robin. And you have got to admit, once Harley latches on to someone it’s hard to pry her off. She uses her good ole’ psych babble and still has that hilarious attitude of hers.
Other than that, Ra’s al Ghul decides to come into play with his merry band of misfits; super heroes and villains alike. It’s a very GREEN storyline; humans are destroying the Earth with their toxic garbage, blah, blah. Not exactly original, but I can see how that would get a few of the heroes on Ra’s side.
This is a DARK comic, not for kiddos or weaklings. There are a lot of graphic deaths (it IS based on a video game, after all) that you probably wouldn’t associate with Batman, so BE WARNED.
The art is phenomenal. The only real complaint I have there it is could use a bit more detail work on the face, especially around the eyes; but even then it wasn’t that big of an issue.
There were a few mistakes, such as a flash-back with Kara learning how to fly on Krypton. Their red sun makes them human-like and they don’t have the abilities they have under Earth’s yellow sun. No flying on Krypton, guys!
Overall, I think this comic is great for a standalone read or a companion to the games. Let’s see how the next volume turns out!

On a different note Harley Quinn is back in action and, is still as crazy as ever. In the injustice universe Harley Quinn became one of my favourite characters. Because she eventually became a hero in her on way. In injustice 2 she has chosen to be on the same side as the real Batman. However she has been captured by the suicide squad and , they have planted a tiny bomb in her brain and, she has no choice but to join them and, Ra's al ghul. Can Batman help her?.
Also Black Canary with Oliver Queen from another universe, are also back in action. The alternate universe Green Arrow has a lot of catching up to do.
Tom Taylor resumes writing duties and, so far has done a very good job of the writing. Also Mike.S.Miller and various artists provide the artwork in the panels. Injustice 2 Volume 1 was worth the wait.
Though I am a supes fan , Bats takes this one !! Worth a read !!
