A GOD GONE MAD. AND THE HEROES WHO SEEK TO SET IT RIGHT.
"IT ALWAYS STARTS WITH ONE."
"ONE DEATH. TO SAVE MILLIONS."
Superman was Earth's greatest hero. He was the shining beacon of truth, justice and the American way. Forever an inspiration for the brighter future ahead, the Man of Tomorrow made the world want to be better. Then everything changed in a single day. When the Man of Steel couldn't protect those he held most dear, he decided being a hero wasn't enough. To truly save this world, he would have to abandon his philosophy as the Big Blue Boy Scout and become the ruler he felt humankind needed.
With his all-powerful allies--Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Shazam and even Robin--the reign of Superman has begun. World conflicts are ended, and criminals are stopped without mercy. Facing a god among men, only one person stands between Superman and ultimate power: the Dark Knight. Batman is gathering an alliance of heroes like Green Arrow, Catwoman, the Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn and Zatanna, willing to risk their lives to oppose this omnipotent dictatorship. He will use every method at his disposal to stop his friend from reshaping the world in his shattered image...whatever the cost, Superman's rule cannot stand!

There are elements of Kingdom Come and Mark Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme 12 issue limited series. In Kingdom Come, Lois was also killed by a super villain but instead of losing it, Superman retreated from society. After 20 years, he was convinced to come out of retirement by Wonder Woman. The 1980's Squadron Supreme limited series saw the Squadron impose Utopia with Nighthawk (Batman analogue) opposing and forming for a resistance team. If you like this omnibus, go read those two graphic novels.
This volume presents years 1, 2 and 3 of the 5 years before the video game of the same name. I hope DC will publish volume 2 of this series and present years 4, 5, related stories and the sequel, Injustice 2.

Superman kills the Joker.
This is the inciting incident. Now, after losing everything and acquiring a taste for blood, Superman goes to work. The Regime is born and the Justice League stands divided. Some follow Superman because they agree with actions. Others follow out of fear. But some... some won't bend the knee so easily.
Don't let the fact that this is a video game tie in turn you away. This is much more than a tie in. This is an epic that eclipses the game itself. This is DC's Civil War, and while it might not be part of the main canon, the world created here feels fully developed and lived in. These may be alternate versions of your favorite characters, but they still feel like the heroes and villains you know. If you consider yourself a fan of DC or superheroes in general I implore you to read this. And pick up Volume 2 while you're at it.
This story is a great deconstruction of the Superman character and showcases why his idealism that some may find corny is so very important. When the world's greatest hero turns his back on us, who do we turn to?

Team Batman vs. Team Superman, Helden bekämpfen sich bis aufs Blut und darüber hinaus, es gibt keine Tabus... Einfach eine perfekte, in sich geschlossene Story, die keinen Anspruch auf Kontinuität hat.
Abgeschlossen in 2 herrlichen Omnibus Bänden.
But at someplaces, the artwork is terrible and if you guys see the pictures i uploaded here then you will see an aweful looking wonder woman in two pictures.
You will understand what i mean by terrible
Second thing - the story.
Story was moving at a nice pace in the begining. Every character had a great role, but when we reach mid way, the story seems a little boring when many new characters are introduced and batman is sidelined for a long time.
I loved the role of constantine in this story, he is at his usual best - smoking and cunning.
As the story moves on, wonder woman is also sidelined. And her role in this story is not something to be worth mentioning.
Superman has somehow lost the ability to think and batman is hell bent of stopping him at any cost.
Batwoman is wasted, and i also loves the the little role of green arrow and black canary.
Their pairing was awesome and a few good moments in this story.
Flash has nothing much to do, and biggest disappointment is shazam. It would make no difference if he was not even there in the story.
Much importance is given to sinistro and lanterns.
Harley quin has a good role, but her face does not look that beautiful.
Best looking girl here is black canary and best looking guy is green arrow.
Third and the most important thing - "pricing".
When i bought this omnibus, the price was ruppes 6700 and when it was delivered to me, i again checked the price and it was rupees 5700.
So amazon, what the f*** is this.
I have cut one star for this very reason.
