This is a well made temp controller. The manual is easy to read & comprehend-although the settings are a bit complex for the average homeowner. No problem if you have time to study the manual to understand it though.... this only has a single set point. this means if you set the target temp to 75 with an upper range of 5 degrees the cooling fan (or heater) will not turn on until 80 degrees-but will REMAIN ON until the temp drops to 75 degrees again (or whatever your target temp is). No problem for me in my application-heating & cooling a small green-house... but may be an issue if you actually WANT to have a temperature range-not just maintain one temperature the whole time. Thanks for reading!!

Setup was super simple (Actually did it sitting at my desk). The manual was OK but the print was pretty small. I just found an online pdf and just looked at my screen.
At first, I tried to just run the cord between the door and gasket, but the gasket was too rigid and would not completely seal.
What I finally did was to match the temp probe to a drill bit and I carefully drilled a hold on the outside through the metal and then took a very thin punch and pushed it through CAREFULLY not to hit any of the coils inside, and pushed just enough to make a indent on the inside. I then drilled another hole on the inside just through the metal. That allowed me to run the probe through the outside wall of the fridge to the inside. I finished it off with some nice heavy-duty gorilla tape :)
It's been running now for about a week with absolutely no issues what so ever.
FYI, I have the compressor delay set to 10 minutes.
About the only thing I may need to add would be a can or two of Silica Gel Beads to help keep the moisture down. Right now I'm not having any issues but I want to be prepared just in case.
Overall this saved me hundreds of dollars and we love all the space that our upright converted freezer to fridge provides.

We had a deep freezer in the garage that we rarely ever used. We were always running out of fridge space and started looking into refrigerators. I got the idea of a temp control as I had used something along these lines with my reef tank. This fit the bill perfectly.

I have 3 of these temperature controllers, and 2 of the humidity models from Inkbird, and all 5 of them work perfectly. Setting your parameters is not difficult at all. I would suggest that before you do it, you take a few minutes to memorize the 8 locations in the system program, and the 2 character abbreviation you'll see on the display for each of those locations. Example, the first location in the program mode is the "Temperature Set Value" and the abbreviation you will see on the display is "TS". There is a flow chart in the manual that clearly shows all 8 locations. Once you have memorized (or at least become familiar with) the different locations, try scrolling through all of them once or twice before you start changing values. When you see how easy it is to step from location to location, and into and out of the program mode, then go ahead and set your values to whatever you need. I have one room where I need to change my settings on a regular basis, and the Inkbird controllers make it much easier than any other digital product I've used. I keep the Inkbird probes close to very high end thermometers and hygrometers, and they are never off by more than one or two tenths of a degree or percentage point. As long as I have a need for these types of controllers, I will always stick with Inkbird!

Mine lasted 13 months. When it worked, it did a fine job. I wish the little display had a few more characters to make the menu system more intuitive, but I guess it's what you expect for cheap.
BUT, one day the temperature was off by 15 degrees. That might not seem like a lot, but in my case everything froze. I verified that the thermistor in the end of the probe was the problem. I did buy another of these, but this time I got the model with the replaceable probe. In my application, if it fails it's not a big deal. But I sure wouldn't rely on it to keep grandma alive.
It feels odd to give this device a poor review and yet buy another. I guess I've decided to treat it like a disposable product, but the review score reflects the fact that it's not advertised that way.
[edit 2JUN21] replacement unit has been working like a champ in continuous duty. So, score updated to 3 stars

UPDATE:
I unplugged everything and redid all the settings. Unit was working overnight appropriately. Left for work and came back to 5 dead chicks and 132 (Fahrenheit) degree reading on the unit! It still showed heating! It’s set to shut off at 1 degree in either direction. If the unit is showing it is off or on “cooling” then no power should be going to the heat lamp/heating outlet!
The item worked great for about 5 days... it was set to 90 degrees in the chick brooder for their heat lamp... shut off at 91, back on at 89. Did this for the first 5 days. Just got home to it still saying it was set at 90 but the lamp was on and it was 125 degrees in there! I almost lost all my chicks! The “cooling” light was on and the heat lamp was still on. Lamp was plugged in to the heating outlet, cooling outlet has nothing plugged in. Unplugged from the wall and plugged back in and the lamp shut off... now I can’t use it because I can’t supervise it 24 hours a day. Not happy!

Display nice and bright. Accuracy is great. The probe line could be more supple. Probe line has many kinks due to how it is shipped in carton. Does not straighten out, kinks remain. Makes it difficult to position the probe.
