Class it up with Wood

My wife has a few diffusers now and gasped when she saw this one in person. Diffusers are pretty simple but there are a few things that can get on your nerves after a while.

First, diffusers that are too loud can be distracting during the daytime and keep you up during the nighttime. They can also keep you from hearing important things like the kids crying or anything else that could go bump in the night and can develop a white-noise dependency that can impact travel or vacation. This diffuser is whisper quiet, it does not produce excessive noise like some other brands I won't mention.

Second, having to refill the diffuser too often or having it not go for long enough can grow as an annoyance. Some diffusers have a large footprint and small capacity, meaning you're paying for a plastic shell that isn't very efficient on space. This diffuser holds 200ml of water, which is double the usual capacity, which means double the usual run time before you have to fill it up again. Having the option to set the timer for 1, 3, or 6 hours means you can use it more when you're around without having to refill it, instead of the on/off options of some other brands.

Third, they all look alike! Most diffusers are bland white or if you're lucky, and willing to pay a premium, black. White plastic allows you to use more of the surface area for the coloring, because the white plastic lights up better, but if you want something different and somewhat more low-key but still has some accent the wood look definitely fits the part. It stands out and has a look of sophistication. The material is actually plastic, because wood and water don't usually go together very well over long periods of time.

On the unit you have two buttons. The one on the left controls the light. The default setting is no light. The first button press transitions between all the colors. The following presses cycle through all the colors so you can set it to a particular color if it matches your mood or décor. When cycling through the colors you have the option of a color and then a dimmer version of that color. If you hold down the light button from any setting it will return to the default setting, which is no light at all. On the right is the mist control. You can set the mist to continue for one hour, three hours, six hours, or continue until empty (marked “On”). With each button press is an audible beep so you know the unit received the command. That feedback makes it easy to memorize the settings you like and stick to them.

The unit came in a professionally printed box with technical information on the unit. Inside the box is a user manual that is pretty thorough and written understandably. Inside the unit itself is the power adapter. The power cord sits flush with the under body, even though there isn't a cut out specifically for it. The power cable simply goes past the raised leg and does not impact the height. This diffuser does not come with a measuring cup, but it does have a pretty obvious fill line inside the unit. When you take off the cap you can see the internals through the opaque plastic. My wife likened this diffuser to a UFO and doubled down on that description when she opened it up. If you use this diffuser in the dark you may notice the top has a slight red glow to it due to the light coming through the plastic material.

Some things to know about this unit. You do not have to align the air outlet with the mist mouth. No matter how you orient the mist mouth it will work normally and produce the same amount of mist. When dumping out the water to not dump through the air outlet, dump from the other side of the unit When cleaning, which is suggested after 3-5 days of use, only use mild detergent or soap. Only use 100% pure essential oils as processed chemicals may damage the unit. In the manual it states more mist will be blown out if you select 1 hour or 3 hours and less for 6 hours and to not be alarmed by this. I did not see a noticeable difference between the four mist settings.

I received this product for testing purposes in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I am highly impressed by this diffuser and my wife is very satisfied.

URGENT WARNING TO CAT OWNERS!

URGENT WARNING TO ALL CAT OWNERS: many of the essential oils used in diffusers are TOXIC to felines, including citrus, cinnamon, lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree, lemongrass, pine, cedar, and many more. ANY oils containing phenols cannot be processed by the liver of a cat (unlike humans) and are therefore toxic. Eucalyptus and tea tree oils are especially dangerous and cause organ failure!
My cat is currently recovering from a 5-day vet hospital stay due to kidney failure caused by essential oils. She was hooked up to an IV for 5 days to flush her kidneys, and is now on antibiotics to fight secondary infection, steroids to induce appetite, and b complex/iron supplements to increase the protein in her blood which was lost during the 5-day IV flush.
Diffusers create a build-up of oils on a cat's fur, which the cat then ingests when grooming/bathing itself. Oil can also be directly inhaled by the cat and collect on nearby furniture, carpet, and bedding, and then be transferred to the cat's fur and paws. To remove the oil build-up, I used my clothes steamer filled with half vinegar, half water to steam the furniture, and rag with a bowl of boiling water and vinegar for the carpet.

This is a 5-star review because these diffusers are delightful for those without cats and are high quality. I will miss being able to use mine every day! The wood look is beautiful, and the colored lights are fun and function as mood lighting and night lights. Makes an outstanding gift (again, for those without cats).

Lasted only 8 months/Was replaced at no cost

I have had this diffuser for 8 months. I loved the fact that it worked great, was quiet, could run it for 3 hours or all night but after 8 months of use I could not get the top off. When I force it off, the top portion of the diffuser comes apart. I can snap it back together but then it has to be forced back on the bottom of the diffuser and the process has to be repeated each time. I understand the product has a 12 mos warranty but can't find a phone number to contact the manufacturer.

Update - In response to my one-star review, the seller shipped me a new diffuser, along with essential oils. I am upgrading my rating to a 5 for customer service. As I said before, the diffuser worked great, was quiet, hopefully, this one will last.

Does need to be cleaned

This is a great diffuser. Mine stopped working because I never cleaned it...my fault! But, this may be helpful to others. When it stopped working, I finally cleaned it and noticed that oil had built up around a small circular thing inside. So I washed the inside with warm water and dish detergent to remove that build up. I did not submerge the device in water,only filled the inside with warm soapy water. After doing this, the device works again. I am going to try to remember to wipe it out each evening from now on.

Love my first one so much I bought two more for myself and gave several away as gifts. I use mine every day. I live in a small cabin out in the woods and have three amazing big smelly dogs. We track in all kinds of yuck smells however, you would never know it thanks to this handy jewel! I use a lot of purifying and cleansing oils. I also noticed a significant decline in sickness in my preschool classroom after using this. I have used the home and school one for over a year now up to 12 hours a day and both units are still going strong. You can set it to run continuously for up to 6 hours at a time..several options available. I also like how the aromatherapy affects us all in the classroom. This aromatherapy diffuser is by far one of the best I have used. I have watched other teachers go through as many as three other brand name diffusers in one year as they just break down. The price of those other diffusers were even higher than InnoGear. Quality, function, appearance and price all have a five star rating. I did buy my first one at a much higher price (still WELL worth every penny) then was able to get the others many months later at a significantly lower price yay!
