I have a home automation system that used 20 year old DOS computers and wanted to upgrade before they fail. Chose this board for lack of fans (reliability) and the legacy SIO and PARALLEL support. One glitch is that the SIO hardware port addresses are interchanged. The BIOS reports this correctly, but not all software seems to be aware of this (including my own original software -- had to tweak it a bit!) I don't use the audio section so can't comment on it. Main heat sink seems more than adequate -- stays cool to the touch. I think the legacy Winbond I/O chip is running a bit hot and I intend to add a heatsink to it. Then with luck it will run longer than I do.

Last weekend, I upgraded an old AMD Semptron-based eMachines (T3626) with this Intel motherboard. I also got 2GB of SODIMM 1066 RAM for the board (max is 4GB) and installed the board and got Windows 7 Home Premium loaded and running perfectly in under an hour. The board is well packaged, documentation is very thorough and well written. The retail box contains stickers for the inside of the PC case and the rear of the PC as well as SATA cables and driver/docs CD. The CPU is a dual core 64bit CPU and it was able to play HD video with no sync problems at all. The audio is crisp and clear and the video is excellent. Overall, this board is an excellent, affordable way to upgrade an old system and give it new life. Be aware that the board only supports SATA (2 ports) and no IDE ports on the board but you could use a PCI card to provide the IDE or additional SATA interfaces as the board has one PCI slot. No CPU fan means that the machine is quiet and the heatsink is effective in dissipating the heat from the CPU. Great deal and a very easy project for a PC novice or above.

Nice little all in one combo. It runs Ubuntu 12.04 nicely with the cedar trail drivers loaded and plays full size video nicely. By adding an Vertex SSD and 4gb ram plus an PCI network card, it makes an easy build. The only con I had with it is that it doesn't have a HDMI port.
