In the book, he also recognizes that even after such an exercise there is still continual work to be done in refining who you are as a leader and the messages you deliver. And he demonstrates through his powerful narrative style, how he himself had to be cognizant of his own platform and “in tune with the message and content” that his audience was thirsty for.
As a leader, you need to be willing to be vulnerable and serve others in order to see, sow, and grow. I’d recommend Glenn Llopis’ book to any professional searching for a fresh take on corporate life. While some might say it’s all common sense, you’d be amazed how reading a few lines or paragraphs every day can inspire change and help you once again (or for many for the first time) “see opportunity” in everything. It’s a game changer – one you can’t afford to pass up.
Every new wave of immigration to the United States has brought new (and different) talents and abilities. Those who were quickest to realize the unique potential of each different wave were able to profit most. The "Six Characteristics" outlined in The Innovation Mentality remind us of that history and those potential rewards in a fresh, current and memorable presentation. I highly recommend this book!
The Innovation Mentality is loaded with applicable learnings about how we must lead in today’s accelerating marketplace - at a time when people, leaders and organizations have grown complacent and lack the hunger to renew and reinvent themselves. It’s a must read for every CEO, leader and manager.
