I purchased these for our kitchen, mainly for the pivoting sockets, more than the surge suppression. The white goes well with our kitchen colors. Since each outlet pivots individually, it makes the counter a lot neater. I can have plugs face left and right, and a plug-in emergency light faces forward. The plugs lie flat against the wall, instead of sticking out and then the wire bending back toward the wall. Just a note, these are really designed for the older standard "round" outlets. The newer "square" modular type outlets will work, but the center screw that locks the unit down will not, as those modular outlets DO NOT have the face plate mounting screw hole in the center of the standard 2 outlet configuration, but rather just above and below the modular outlets. It will work, but you can't "lock" the unit down.

I ordered 2 of these surge protectors. One for a hi-tech refrigerator and the other for a hi-tech A/C unit. Both protectors worked fine right of the box.
I wanted at least 2K Joules of procection in a wall mount unit and found that these are rated for 2160 Joules. I discovered while shopping that some units are rated as low as 90. The Innovera 71651 is very well made and has a screw that replaces the one that secures the cover plate for the electrical outlet. This screw holds the protector firmly in place. The indicator lights are also a nice feature as they show protection status and if the outlet is properly grounded. Highly recommended!

I really like this surge protector.
I like the individually rotating receptacles that allow you to connect over-sized voltage adapters without sacrificing access to adjacent receptacles and that the unit screws into the wall outlet cover plate threading for stability and security.

My wife showed me the infomercial on TV for another brand and I started investigating. After reading reviews of the infomercial model and the complaints of them pulling out of the wall I found this one. I ordered 2 pf the Innovera 71651 and have been very pleased with them. There are several types on Amazon and 1 feature that I was impressed with is that this has a screw that secures it to the outlet, the others just plug in and thus can be pulled out easily.

The pivoting outlets are good. The hinges are stiff. I installed it directly over a socket (not over a coverplate) and feel that it is a bit wobbly. I do not know if this woudl happen if the cover plate was there. I put some small shims behind it, and the stability issue has been resolved. The LEDs for power and ground are useful, and not too bright.

OK - I can't mount it with the mounting screw - I just removed it.
Now for the most important point to consider if you are planning on buying such a fixture.
DO NOT buy the type where one who side turns together. You want to be able to plug in those extra cords and leave out one plug available to plug in something extra. I have used this on my kitchen counter and I have plugged in my food processor, can opener, toaster, and blender as these thing permanently sit on the kitchen counter. I thus turn these 4 plugs to the wall so the cords fit more flush to the wall.
The remaining two plugs remain facing outwardly as if I want to use my hand mixer or my stick blender that are put up between uses, I do not want to turn two other plugs and cords outward to access the one plug.
Keep in mind that while you have 6 plugs, you CANNOT use all the appliances/plugs at once. Most kitchen outlets are connected to a 15 or 20 watt breaker, and if you try turning on the toaster, microwave, and food processor all at the SAME TIME, you may likely "blow" the breaker (overload it).
So, turn off something before turning on more than two applicances at the same time (or even one if it is a heavy electrical user such as a toaster or microwave). Sounds complicated but it is not in practice.
Hope this helps.

It tripped my circuit breaker and didn't function ever again. I guess it was good that it tripped it, but then there is no way to reset this so it works again. I now have a different brand that works great. All in all it really wasn't worth it.

I like this okay, but when will manufacturers get with the program and realize outlets don't have the screw in the middle anymore? I haven't seen one that does in decades. So that part of the product doesn't do me any good and I often come in and see that it's no longer plugged in. I also wish some of the outlets were rotated so that the third prong was on the bottom instead of the side (hard to describe what I'm talking about!). I have one of those Aura Cacia scent diffuser ball thing and I can't plug it into this unit because the diffuser pad falls out. Look at my pictures and you'll see what I'm talking about.
