Many of you will initially want to go with wall mounting a television, and I thought about this as well, but just based on all the research its not really worth it. This stand will look beautiful and as long as you buy one of those cable boxes that organize cables inside a boxed around extension cord then this ill look great. I currently have a 50 inch 4k tv and AudioEngine HD6 speakers on top of this guy. The glass panels are very sturdy just be careful when inserting them in. Make sure they go in the right way.
All in all this was a lot nicer for me to have as the center piece of my living room. I also have my Apple airport extreme and TPlink 350MB/s cable modem on top of this as well. I will also be putting in an all black Brother laser wireless printer on this as well on the bottom shelf.
Great purchase overall, I looked into over 100 models varying in price from $80 to $10000 and this was the best bang for the buck.
If you put the thing together as instructed and put your Center Speaker in the center, Your tweeter will be directly behind a steel beam. The Shelf is divided down the middle. In the photo this is not the case. I can only assume this adds structural support to prevent in from sagging in the middle and causing the glass to shatter. So if your looking to put a center speaker below the TV, it can't be in the center on this unit as delivered.
EDIT: I thought another support in the front making two off centered would allow for a space in the middle for my center speaker. I called back the manufacturer and they agreed and are sending me a second front support. The manufacturer, Innovex was very supportive during all calls, when I presented a solution they were more than happy; they said I will get a tracking number emailed. Also before this solution presented itself the Reseller ShopLadder also was making every avenue to resolve the situation. In addition when the mistake online was made obvious the photos were updated within hours.
As for build quality and construction, the build is good as it is steel and tempered glass. My only real concerns are regarding the suction cups that hold the glass in place, they do not seem the most secure but if it is not moved or bothered I believe it will be fine. The two back panels that hide the cables are made of very thin steel so use caution not to bend them.
Despite amazons picture of the 73" stand not having the center bar in the middle of the front it actually does so keep this in mind if you considering center channel speaker placement. I decided not to use the center bar when putting it together and it put together just fine and is stable, so you can skip the center bar in front if you do not have super heavy equipment. I did check the stand with a leveler after putting it together sans center bar and it was level and ready to go.
It's a good tv stand overall and I would recommend it to friends/family. I would recommend sliders to make it easier to move when you have equipment on it (in my case changing the bulb every so often in my tv) as it is heavy when assembled and even heavier with equipment on it (that and while it is steel you do not want extra wear and tear on the soldered joints). I would purchase this over anything made of particle board any day.
