Sometimes, for fun, I like to search the App market for 'magic' and see what comes. This did, and I am downright pleased. As well, there are no apparent ads - WOW! The app does require permissions for network access, so I'm not sure whether that will change in the future. But nice, for now.

A brief understanding - bibliomancy, for the uninitiated, is the divining art of querying random passages in books to provide wisdom and insight to your situation. Usually, this is done by closing your eyes, going to your bookcase, choosing a random book and letting the pages fall where they may. Having stubbed my toe a time or two via a cascade of heavy tomes, I can say this is an improvement. The user below was probably not familiar with the actual purpose of the app, and gave it a low rating accordingly. What it does, while simplistic, has a specific intent.

Having said, it's an attractive app - simple, but with the appearance of parchment. I like that. There appear to be only four books to choose from, delightfully random titles, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. 'Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes', 'Romeo and Juliet', and an ambiguously titled 'Sayings'. One assumes that works public domain took precedence here. One also hints that there are a plethora of other books in said domain, just sayin.

The premise is simple: Start the program, think of your question, choose a book and VOILA. For fun, I asked it:

"How great is this app?"

And received the answer, "He will never set the Thames on fire."

Londoners, be warned.

Also? It works on the unrooted Kyros!

This app does what it says it will. It's fun and much easier than carrying around I ching coins or an eightball. I wish it included more books, and I would really like to see the bible here just to grab a verse for the day. Good app and lots of fun.

Very good application of an old technique. The primary strength here is that it eliminates the need to go to you bookshelf and randomly choose the literature yourself. Since it does not interpret the meanings of randomly selected passages for you, I recommend it for those who are already experienced in divinatory interpretation. I also suggest that the User shy away from selecting 'Romeo and Juliet' as the way the lines are divided up, the text often provides exceedingly brief, difficult to interpret passages (e.g., I just recieved 'you, it.' to today's query).

A recommendation to the developers: Many bibliomancers prefer using religious texts, so you might get more dowloads if you also offer parts or wholes of the Bible, Koran, Bhagavad Gits, etc. as options as well.

In the end, this is going to be one of my favorite apps!

The premises of this app is great. However there isn't enough material to draw from. I think it could be a great app if they added books. Also if they tweaked it a bit too be able to choose by subject. So if the question you ask is about life, romance, financial, etc... the subject of the book would correlate. So life would be say Great Expectations, Catcher in the Rye, Much Ado About Nothing, etc...

this app is very intriguing, I asked a question of whether things will be ok or not between myself and a past flame that still haunts me. I chose the book and I received the passage " I tell you, he who lays hold of her ", interesting.

This app basically just offers a random selection of quotes from public domain books. It's "selling" point is that you ask a question and it gives you an answer. But the selection of quotes is so limited and generic that there is nothing "magical" at all. A Magic 8 Ball is more amusing.

This app is just dumb. You can hardly read it because it was translated wrong from it's original language. The advertising is wrong as well I thought it would be an app where I could look up what classic books say about issues, not an app where I pick one of five classic books and choose a page and a line and see what that particular line on that particular page says! This app is dumb and not worth the download!!!
