Love kinda messes things up and is known to ruin friendships! Two very different boys, one girl. Boy, is that complicated? Which one will Ange choose- the nice guy with the supposedly uncomplicated life or the bad boy with a lot of baggage?
The novel is divided into three distinct parts which I liked. The first part deals with the senior year in High School and all the teen drama it brings, while filling us in on necessary background details. Admit to having mixed feelings about the main characters. Not always likeable even Mr Nice Guy, Ayden has his flaws.Second part is about five years on . A mixture of the present and events leading up to the present. Maybe the most heart-wrenching part.Warning: have tissues ready as you embark on this emotional part of the journey. Third and final part wraps things up. Seeing as this is a standalone, everything is tied up nicely, no cliffhangers.
This story spans 11 years of their life as we follow them from high school to adulthood. We are able to witness every step of their journey which is filled with angst, drama and secrets. Like most people as they mature from teenagers to adults bad decisions are made but are these decisions too dire to overcome?
This is an emotional story that you won’t soon forget.
I loved this book, I loved everything about it. I loved the all the characters. They were well developed and beautifully written. The story was beautiful, heart-breaking, and healing. Siobhan's writing brought me right in to the story and got me completely hooked. I read it over the course of two days and when I had to put it down for one reason or another, I made sure to get back to it as soon as possible.
I will warn you that there are some tough things dealt with in this book, items that could be considered triggers for some, so know that going in, however, I'm not going to address them in the review. All I will say is that Siobhan dealt with them beautifully.
Give this book as shot, I truly believe you will love it like I did.
Readers...if you love reading a Full story this is for you. I must warn you though, you need tissues(i ugly cried more than once) and dont try to read where you need to be silent because its impossible. You will laugh, gasp, cringe and cry but it is WORTH every single second.
