The book is a good companion to the movie. My kid loved the movie so we got her the book. It's a good book to read after seeing the movie. It outlines the overall plot very well and hits on most of the major elements of the movie story. But it obviously can't encompass everything in the movie into a children's book, so you lose detail on things like the long term memory maze.

The emotions (Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust) also don't come across with their full zest in print. So unless you are familiar with the characters you don't really get who the emotions are. If you are familiar with them, however, they work great in print.

If your kids have seen the movie and know the story this is a great book. If your kids haven't seen the movie yet I think they'd probably be a bit lost trying to follow it in this book.

It's not a short book. (As far as childrens' story books go) It was a good 20 minute read. So it makes a great soothing bedtime story as it's not over super fast.

Bought this for my daughter's birthday and am very happy with it. We loved the movie and this book is a great companion to it. It is a big book with great, colorful pictures, and easy to read sentences (my daughter is learning how to read). I'll be buying another to read to my baby boy since my daughter will be taking hers out of state.

Bought this book for my 3 1/2 year old grandson. He loved the movie and I just had to get this book for him since he loves books. This golden book was so much larger than I thought it would be. It is 8.9 x 0.4 x 11.1 inches. If you have seen the movie you will love the book. He has already taken it to pre-school for show and tell.

This is a delightful book, and is ‘a must’ have for any fan of the movie. It is a well-bound hard back with great splendid pictorials, which are well drawn and coloured to perfection. As another reviewer has mentioned this is an excellent book for a fun bedtime reading, and great for engaging the narrative, the pictures with the child who is listening.
