I saw the movie and it was totally freaky and wow...what a soundtrack to match. I have a huge collection of soundtracks and in that collection I have a whole lot of horror soundtracks. Nothing in my collection is quite like this. This music screams terror! It has some of the weirdest and creepiest sounds ever. I've never even heard of this composer before and I didn't even know that they had ever printed this soundtrack to a CD. I was just looking around on Amazon one evening and found it. I listened to some of the samples on iTunes and became very interested in it. The music has some big surprise moments that just jump out at you but it also has a few very melodic pieces that are quite nice. "The Unawakened" pieces are very moving. Most of the tracks are short little bites that are perfect for this release. If they were any longer then it would probably give you a headache! The tracks go together and tell a story within themselves. It is a roller coaster of emotions. This is some great stuff here. I don't think this is music to do homework with or to put on to spend the evening to relax. I don't think you would want to jog with it at night either (unless you really want to freak yourself out). It is something to listen to and appreciate what it is and what it is trying to do...which is to compliment/enhance a horror film. It might be a great tool to use during Halloween however. If your a big fan of the horror genre and/or you appreciate unique and interesting soundtrack music...I highly recommend this CD.

My husband and I are huge horror movie fans. That being said, we usually do not get frightened by them. That was not the case with Insidious. It took us, no joke, 3 days to get through the entire movie because we'd turn it off and watch a comedy until we were no longer creeped out. Now, that's a good horror flick! One of the things that made it so good, and so scary, was the music. When we got the CD, we thought it wouldn't creep us out much without the accompanying film. We were wrong. It's very atmoshperic and

I just watched this movie, and the soundtrack was so good, I thought that it might've been sampled in from other composers, the way Stanley Kubrick used pieces by Ligeti and Penderecki in 2001 and in other films. For an original score, it was on par with the great film composers like Bernard Herrmann or Jerry Goldsmith - composers who were marvellously inventive with sounds. Good going! Very creepy film score.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bishara on the set of the upcoming movie, " The Warren Files. " A true gentleman, and now, after hearing " Insidious " a true genius as well. He will also be scoring " The Warren Files ", which promises to be a powerful and terrifying excursion into evil.

In my opinion, this soundtrack ranks up their with the true " Masters " of music making. I'd put him next to Gershwin for " Standards " " John Lennon for "Rock Lyrics ", " Brian Wilson for rock harmony and arrangements", and now Joseph Bishara for "Scary, haunting movie Soundtracks". It's THAT good.

I can't wait to hear what this genius comes up with for " The Warren Files. " By the way, I wouldn't listen to " Insidious " while you are alone at night in a house. It will make for a very uncomfortable evening!

5 stars to you, Mister Bishara!

If you loved the movie, you will love the score. It is raw, dark, creepy and will send chills up your spine as you relive moments from the film. I don't know what is freakier, the waterfall cascade of screeching strings or knowing that the composer was also the actor playing the demon in the film? I will let you be the judge...pick it up if you want something to blast on a crisp dark autumn night and you want to scare yourself to death...
