Getting the TV out of the box is a PITA. They want you to grab it by the plastic bag the TV is wrapped in but when you do it's almost glued to the box and requires you to summon Macho Man to assist you in getting it out.
The little legs that come in the box aren't labeled so it'll take a little guessing to find the one that works for each side.
You'll need a phillips head screw driver to install the legs.
The packaging is a little misleading. It's an LCD TV with an LED backlight. Signing into all your accounts sucks because the remote isn't touch sensitive even though it REALLY looks like it is.
Every time you turn the TV on, you get the home screen. It doesn't remember if you were using an Input or not. I really wish I could disable some of the rows I'm now interested in using.
When watching with an antennae it gives you the option to start over, although I've never tried doing it to see what it actually does. Even has a guide for what antennae shows are on next which is nice.
Overall for 329 it's not a bad TV. Im even considering buying another for another room in my home.
I love the size and quality of the video. That being said I have the CBS and Sling App downloaded, and once to two times a month I have to delete and reinstall the apps. I am sure it has more to do with the apps however; the bugs in the compatability between the TV and the apps may not all be worked out. Also, once in a while the screen gets these green lines all on the right side of the screen. Also, the volume of the TV is very low. I would recommend buying a sound bar or a surround sound system.
I purchased this TV directly from Insignia thru their parent organization but feel, as an Amazon customer of long standing, that fellow Amazon users should also be warned about the low quality. By the way, Insignia customer service is also terrible and repair service under the warranty is said to take as long as a week!
Performance wasn’t very good – viewing angle is very narrow and colors seem washed out.
Picture went out suddenly and now there is just a dark, garbled negative image. Tried all troubleshooting tips with no success. See attached photos to see what I mean.
Best Buy store brand products like Insignia and Dynex delivered satisfactory performance previously. The old Dynex (Best Buy in-house brand) that I replaced this with worked fine for 9 years! Insignia doesn’t have the same quality. No wonder this particular brand has a particularly low Fakespot rating as somebody pointed out to me. Wish I’d known that before my purchase.

Update: feel like the original 1 star rating is too high. After getting the repair crew out to look at it, they said a part needed to be replaced (which they didnt have) so they would have to come back. Fast forward several weeks. The changed the part and it changed nothing. Now they say oh well can’t be fixed now you need to drive it to a location an hour away to return it. Then they just left it turned over on the bed. One important note, the repair team said when you return it just get a credit because all these Fire TVs are super poor quality. Apparently all her does now is goes around and fixes them. Great for him personally but bad for people that buy it
The real reason this lost a star was how bad the delivery service was. I was going out of town for the weekend and was given a delivery window from Monday - Weds of the following week and I gave very very clear instructions 'LEAVE ALL PACKAGES AT THE SIDE DOOR' because I live in a major city and dont want all my stuff stolen. So what do they do? Show up at 4:45pm at my front door on Thursday (4 days early) and demand a signature which was never mentioned or requested during checkout... good thing I left work early that day.
Customer service isn't about being fast, its about listening to your customers! I said not to delivery it until next week and not to my front door for a freaking REASON!!!!
