You really can't go wrong with Insignia. I've owned several Insignia monitors and TVs and they really are an incredible brand for the low prices they sell for. My last set is over 10 years old and still going strong.
Keep in mind, a lot of the complaints over these devices have much more to do with insanely-high expectations. If you want anything over 60hz refresh for gaming, expect to spend at LEAST $1000-$1500 for the same size. But trust me, I doubt your eyes will even notice or care. And your wallet will thank you.
THE BAD: I knew to expect it going in, but Amazon's not-so-gentle promotion of their own agenda is very much baked into this product - but that's why it's so cheap. "Home" is basically an advertisement screen for Amazon, thinly veiled as entertainment options. Glaring is the omission of "chromecast" as an input label (where EVERYTHING else is available - Roku, Apple TV, etc etc etc) and there is no option to name your own input. Obviously many, many chromecast users will have to leave their input as "HDMI1", and while a pretty small thing overall it serves to highlight Amazon's priorities where customers are anything but first. They even make the setting that allows chromecast to automatically switch to its input OFF by default, but at least it's available to turn on. (To be fair, I did choose the "full experience" in setup which required me to sign-in with my Amazon account - I assume if I had chosen the other option some of this intrusiveness might be minimized).
THE GOOD: These deliberate decisions aside, I was happy to find the interface snappy for hulu, disney and netflix. The remote and menus are well thought out and intuitive. Very satisfied with the picture quality too - this is my first 4K TV and I noticed things in Rango that I had never seen before! Similar to listening to a song you know on great speakers and suddenly hearing background harmonies you never before noticed. Overall build quality seems great too - even though it's light it doesn't feel cheap. My 50" mounted great to the Pipishell "TV Wall Mount Bracket Full Motion Dual Swivel Articulating Arms Extension Tilt Rotation, Fits Most 26-55 Inch" mount, which allows for an impressive amount of movement, but that's a different review. Would buy again.
Takes a little effort to learn the menu and trying to figure out why you can't go to input settings without backing out to the main menu then go back in... Other than that it works fine with pretty much everything I've tested and shows up correct as an HDR monitor when using with a computer at 4K 60hz and Gsync compatible.
