My main tablet is a screen tablet, and as you’d expect, it’s very difficult to move it around but I’ve been taking this around and it’s very easy to set up and comfortable to use (especially since it comes with its own bag). And if you’re the type to use a lot of shortcuts in your art (like me) then all the buttons on the side are a huge bonus. The LCD backside is also really handy for doodling! Huion didn’t have to add a LCD side but it’s very cute that they did lol But yeah, I highly recommend this to anyone looking to start digital art or anyone looking for an easy on-the-go tablet :)
Now the only downsides I have about this is how incompatible it is with many phones. I can’t say anything about the Huion Sketch app/experience because I wasn’t able to test it out (I have an iPhone). I just hope that in the future, they can make it more compatible with other phones!

2. The pen doesn't need batteries nor charge, really nice.
- Of course H420's pen won't work on this
- The pen is lighter without batteries but I don't mind, it's about the same weight as a normal mechanical pencil, don't feel any issues with it.
- Definitely can write in more titled angles as described comparing to the H420. Doesn't hinder normal writing / drawing at all.
3. The LCD writing area on the other side is larger (see photo 2).
4. Can flip the tablet over and draw on the other LCD side easily (see the 4th attachment, an underwhelming video of me flipping it over.)
More on this, the back side is just a LCD writing tablet and it works like you'd expect. Useful for todo lists and quick notes / sketchs. Keeping the random temporary writings out of the notebook is a nice thing. Having a set place for the TODOs is also nice because it reduces the chance of me writing down the TODOs and then just forget they ever existed. It's hard to forget now beacuse it's in neon blue and it's right in my face. I also can't just put it away because I need the other side too.
Also finger skins doesn't work, but nails do work. I'd rather use the pen still, it said to not use sharp objects.
The battery for the LCD side is replaceable (see left of photo 2). Need a small phillip screwdriver to open it up.
5. Have a widget that can be opened with several pen nibs instead; the bottom can be used to remove the pen nibs, also works as a pen holder (see left of photo 2), fairly stable
6. Works well on Win10/PC. Not tested on andriod, don't have one, but I took a photo of the two andriod adapters (see attachment #5) in case someone wants to make sure the adpaters look right
7. The bag is reasonably large, easy enough to fit the tabet in and tight enough. See photo 3
8. Irrelevant, but the box design looks pretty nice (see the last attachment).
9. Becareful when installing the driver, reboot happens when you press finish (like most other drivers requring reboots). I just forgot that's a thing and probably missed a warning of it somewhere.
10. Two buttons on the pen, eleven buttons on the tablet itself, all configurable via the driver software to run shortcuts / hotkeys, run programs, mouse LR middle button, mouse wheels and double left click. Making the button(s) to do nothing is obviously an option as well if you don't like them.
I suppose at the point of it being able to have shortcuts / run programs is already enough to make it do whatever else you want with AHK and such
11. Able to run different button configuration based on the current process / application
If you want to bind the buttons to do different things in chrome and in ms paint, it's possible via the driver software. Click the gear icon to left of the minimize button.
There's also a game mode and mouse mode, not sure what those does. Windows Ink enabled by default and can be turned off.
Supports adjusting the size and rotating the work area.
12. The driver software is using ~60 MB of RAM and 0% CPU. Disk usage ~24 MB.
As of today (11/6/2019) it's on version 14.8.51.774.
Supports export/importing settings in XML format.
Installed the driver without turning off the antivirus and uninstalling the H420 driver. I did turn the H420 driver off prior to install and removed it from startup. probably wouldn't have mattered.

Now why I bought this was specific to drawing on Android. I’d say if you have anything EXCEPT a Samsung device it’s a 1000% buy. If you are using a Samsung device you have to use drawing applications that support showing the cursor within its application. The following applications have this feature to allow you to work on Samsung devices:
- Huion Sketch - I do not recommend this at this time
- MediBang - Shows cursor but as you start to draw it goes away
- ArtFlow - Has options to show the exact brush size and cursor, this one I highly recommend
- Infinity Painter - Has option to show cursor and stays shown while drawing
None of these show the cursor while trying to access their UI, its only when the pen is hovering on the canvas. I personally prefer Ibis Paint X (does not support showing the cursor on Samsung devices), but Artflow is a a close second and overall as long as you don't mind paying for the app, or watching ads then using this on Samsung Devices is passable. Art flow supports keyboard shortcuts which allows you to map the keys on the graphics tablet. Meaning you do not need to use Huion Sketch to leverage your graphics tablet physical buttons. The only one limitation with ArtFlow is you cannot use the second button on the pen.
Keep in mind as long as your not using a Samsung device you are good to use just about any drawing application. If you are using a Samsung device, then the list of apps I provided can show the cursor BUT they do not work out of the box. Each application must be configured in their respective settings to show the cursor. While ArtFlow has the best overall experience its not obvious how to enable these settings for Samsung devices.
=========== Huion Sketch ===========
Their Android Huion Sketch application underperforms with the same canvas size of every other Android drawing application. The eraser chucks making it possible to do refined movements, this is more noticeable while working on small canvas sizes. Zooming into a drawing leads to even worst drawing performance. The application only operates in portrait mode. This was designed for a phone, leaving a lack luster experience for tablet/phablets that have the room to show things like layers while you draw. It leads to menu hunted slowing you down. There are some shortcuts like reset canvas which is never displayed to you.
=========== ===========
Also specific to portrait mode, if you rotate your tablet horizontally, you will only have access to 1/2 your screen. This is in any drawing application on Android. Huion’s Android mode is only designed to work in portrait mode, which is why their sketch application only supports that orientation.
So why 5 stars? Their sketch app is separate from this tablet. While it has debuted with this tablet, you can use any other drawing application. You will not be able to access the 11 buttons on the tablet unless you use Huion Sketch or Art Flow. Given that Android is touch first, using the tablet buttons is almost not needed.
Huion if you read this... and you work on the Huion Sketch application add photo invert colors. You gave us green lines on a black canvas, if want to take a photo of my drawing on the lcd writing side, I have no choice but to invert the colors.
Lastly using a cellphone camera to photograph the lcd writing display, has a massive glare on it. This makes inverting the draws on the back of this tablet hard to use as invert will have massive blotches covering up the line art.
