Insta-Cure+ is a higher viscosity CA for loose fitting joints in which the adhesive must bridge gaps. Normally, the thicker CA is applied to one surface and then the parts are held tightly together for about 5 to 15 seconds. For large surface areas, including those with close fitting joints such as laminations, INSTA-CURE+ should also be used. To prevent premature curing, dont spread the glue into a thin film. Lay down a serpentine bead with about 1" separations on one surface, then assemble the parts, letting the pressure spread the CA out.

I love how fast it dries.. and I hate how fast it dries!
I use this product mainly to set Austrian Crystals. It is FAR superior to E6000 when applying crystals to rubberized or vinyl surfaces.
It dries quickly but not instantaneously which is a huge plus. Once this stuff sets ( I give it a solid 24 hours), you have a bond made of steel.
I never worry about crystals popping off. Instead I worry about them cracking from constant use!! This is especially important if you re-sell any of your crafts.
I was extremely doubtful that the cap was actually "no clog" BUT so far so good!! When I use it to apply crystals, I use a super fine metal tip that I push on to the end of the applicator tip (it goes on no problem) therefore having extreme control over how much product comes out. After I finish, I take a piece of wire and run it through my metal tip and the also bottle applicator (standing upright) therefore leaving a totally clear path to re-use both later on. I have even forgotten to do this and it has yet to clog.
The consistency is a bit thicker then the typical runny formula but not much.
The $8 price tag may seem a bit high but trust me, it isn't. It's actually a very generously sized bottle that (at least for my purposes) will last eons! AND, it ships PRIME :)
I first encountered this magic stuff when I swiped a bottle from my husbands model ship building supplies. Needless to say, he never got it back!
I love and adore my Insta Cure - here's why: I often find myself attempting to bond the ODDEST things together.
Rubber + wood? No problem.
Plastic + paper? Yep.
Apoxie Sculpt + Polymer Clay? Absolutely.
Plus, I've discovered that when paired with FabriTac Adhesive, this creates a bond that I TRUST over time to hold heavy and awkward items together.
One of my very favorite uses: saturating the edges of cut and laminated layers of chipboard. Once the Insta Cure has dried, the chipboard becomes almost wood-like in it's ability to be shaped with sanding. Fantastic - no more fuzzy and fraying layers of paper fiber!
The additional working time, coupled with the almost gel consistency have made me a fan for LIFE!
Compared to Gorilla Glue's CA gel & Zap-A-Gap gel, this stuff strikes me as much higher quality and far stronger. I'm definitely a Bob Smith convert now and will be going with this brand whenever this bottle runs out!
Insta-cure addresses both issues. It is a less-watery gel, so it does a much better job with slightly irregular surfaces. I often use it for quick assembly of wood parts, which would never work with normal super glues. And the 2oz bottle is really quite a lot of glue. I use it to put together complex models made from wood, plastic and metal, and to make fairly large repairs. And a bottle goes a long way.
Even for jobs like furniture making, it can be very difficult to hold parts in perfect alignment long enough to add permanent fasteners like screws. Now I use Insta-cure for my initial assembly and can then add the permanent fasteners in just a few minutes without the parts shifting.
Note that this product is part of a family of super glues having different liquid thickness and setting times. This one is my favorite for the uses mentioned above, and because I find its drying time quick enough so I don't need to clamp very long, while still leaving me enough time to reposition parts if I'm a bit off the first time.
Keep in mind that 2 oz is a huge amount of glue. To give you an idea of how much glue is in this bottle, a typical tube of Super Glue has less than 1/10 of an ounce of glue. Cyanoacrylate glues have a limited shelf life of one to two months once opened. . Unless you use a lot of glue on a daily basis, this glue will probably go bad before you use it all. While you will pay more per ounce, most people will end up spending less in the long run with the 1/2 oz bottles.
