Cool camera stuffed with innovative features!

I was thinking about buying an action cam for a long while and I accidentally came across some video about this camera on FB. The modular design is really sick. I have never seen any action camera with modularity before. I used the 4K mod for vlogging and the 360 mod for running. It turns out that the stabilisation performs very great, even when I was running in the woods and jumping over the tree trunks. What really surprised me is that the One R app has a lot of different tutorials and editing features. The AI tracking is amazing. It automatically helps me with the editing job, so I can directly share the footage with just a few tabs! Very nice and smart action camera! Overall it will worth every bucket it costs! Tight!

I bought the Insta360 one R two weeks ago and it’s amazing. I went wakeboarding with this camera with my friends and it captured all the fun time with high-quality pictures and videos. It has very impressive stability while moving and it’s definitely waterproof. With the phone app, it is really easy for us to access, edit, and share the footage. I and my friends took videos with each other all time and the camera definitely boosted the whole experience of the trip. I absolutely fell in love with this camera after this trip.

I would recommend insta360 one R if you are a fan of outdoor activities. I’m already excited to use it to shoot footages of skiing in the winter. As for the overheating problem mentioned in some comments, I would say it is fine for me. Overheating is a common problem for sports cameras and I haven’t found any issues of my camera caused by overheating. Plus you hold the camera though the bracket instead of hands, so from my perspective overheating doesn’t affect the experience of using it.

The app is the ace in the hole here, you don't need a computer to edit& upload to your favorite social media sites

Save yourself some money & buy a kid on amazon like the Neewer one for about $25 which has every mount you'll ever need. The Insta350 selfie stick is a must have as it's constructed really well for $15.

I would say, this camera worths the money. It is very easy to use. I’ve spent a few days on trying both lenses, the app and the desktop software. What impressed me the most is the app. It has different editing templates and tracking function, so I just need to import the video and choose the one I want. It does the reframing and editing jobs for me. Pretty smart!

Absolutely rad action camera. I was a big fan of GoPro for years. I tired their 360 camera and was disappointed in the software to edit the footage. The insta360 editing software on my phone took a minute to figure out but was really intuitive and realistic to get basic follow shots to getting in depth and following my crazy flips and twists with the perspective editing frame by frame. I really feel insta360 did amazing on their software to pull clips off and create some very unique perspectives with the stitching out of the selfie stick. I have a couple of really popular videos using these cameras now because of the insane perspective you can get by getting creative with a selfie stick.

The modular design is definitely the killer feature of this camera. I use the 4K lens for making vlogs and the 360 lens is perfect recording my hikes. The battery life is a bit underwhelming, but additional battery packs are light-weight and easy to replace. The image quality is also very decent. The videos are very stable and the images are also vivid and detailed (see attached). The app is also a pleasure to use, whether I want to adjust the filter or to quickly edit the full video for posting on social media. Very happy with the purchase.

Great action camera, and very unique but the app is critical to using the camera and editing your footage. However the app makes it very hard to do advertised features and is very unstable. The camera footage looks great though, with the caveat that you will probably want a larger battery than the one supplied.

This camera is the perfect camera for sports and especially the size, weight, and picture quality is amazing for drones.

The stabilization works flawlessly and the different stitching allows us to have invisible drones. It's great that it has a desktop app and mobile with loads of different options and even can export PRORES for the best quality and post-production.

The interchangeable lens makes it customisable for 360 filming or normal wide-angle 4k filming. So far its been a great action-style camera with lots potential. Can't wait to capture some amazing shots with it in the future.

The camera has a great dependency of the cellphone app to be used, which make difficult to use all the camera tools and effects. The app is not compatible with all the hardware cellphones, so if you have an old cellphone, I dont recommend this camera. By itself the one r is just a normal avarage action camera. To obtain good results, in comparison with other action cameras you will need to invest in additional accessories.

Having different mods works really well, although I find the 360 so much fun I use it most of the time. The effects you can create in the app using the 360 mod are great fun. It’s my first action camera, so I can’t compare with other similar cameras, but if you want to have fun and create amazing quirky video's and stills, this camera does a great job.

I was going to return this camera before i even used it based on my user experience right out of the gate. Couldn't get a test video to play in the software. I ended up filming and the camera kept overheating and shutting down. I spent a whole day trying to edit a 360 video and kept running into problem after problem in the software. In the end i couldn't even see my video because the software wouldn't play it. My computer met the minimum specs and it just didn't play my video. I could auto frame a video but then it didn't play. Really disappointed with the experience i had.

Update after 2 weeks of use:

The phone app is completely unusable on my Android phone. Apparently this has been a ongoing issue that hasn't been resolved since the One R was launched. Insta360 Customer Service sends you pre-written response of things to try despite me sending a detailed email of the problems I am having. They did not respond to my follow up emails asking for more support. After my experiences with them I think it is fair to say that you will not be receiving any support after purchase. There are many many features in the app that are not available in the desktop software. Those features are a big part of what makes this camera stand out from the GoPro Max and if I cant use them then I might as buy the highly polished and refined GoPro cameras.

The camera still overheats and stops recording randomly. I am not very impressed with the reliability. The 32GB SD card that comes with the camera is not fast enough to record the video. I frequently got a error that said that the SD card was to slow. I upgraded to a 128 San disk Extreme Pro and haven't had that issue anymore.

I am particularly displeased with the sound quality. The camera really struggles to pickup speech from 5ft away. I know the quality of a action camera isn't going to be great but I cant understand what is being said in the clips most of the time.
