Free-Standing Refrigerator Installation

Let qualified J.B. Hunt® Final Mile Services install your new Amana®, Haier® or Frigidaire refrigerator. You'll enjoy the convenience and confidence of white glove professional installation while ensuring the protection of your floors and possessions. Installation services will be performed at the time of your appliance delivery and include a two-person delivery team and one-year workmanship warranty.

Installation Includes the Following Services

 All necessary installation accessories provided. You buy nothing more.
 Level and center appliance
 Attach and install water line (for applicable models)
 Remove and dispose of packaging materials
 Uninstall old appliance
 Relocate old appliance within home or haul away and dispose of old appliance
 1 year warranty for workmanship
 Cannot modify cabinets, counter tops or flooring to complete installation
 Cannot modify cabinets, counter tops or flooring to remove an existing appliance
 Cannot use installation accessories provided by the customer

Yesterday, the truck from J.B. Hunt arrived within a minute of the time they estimated on the phone, which is impressive alone, considering they had 70 miles to come from their last delivery. The drivers were courteous, professional, and clean. They did their work quickly and efficiently. They were very patient with us. We got this fridge as a second fridge, for overflow, so they didn't have to haul away the old one. Nevertheless, they moved it back and forth in the garage until we were able to get the cord to the outlet that was not on a GFI circuit. They even helped me move a couple of cabinets in order to get to that outlet. No complaints, they just took it in stride. They didn't leave until everything was working correctly, with all the shelves in place and doors balanced correctly.

I had never thought of for appliances before, but after my experience with J.B. Hunt, I will always look to FIRST for all appliances! I only wish there were six stars to give them!

The only bright point was that the refrigerator shipped sooner than expected.

JB Hunt's part in this was confusion and substandard at every stage. They (Joe) first called to ask what they were supposed to do. What?

Yes, they had received the installation order, but it was not tied to the refrigerator order. (Amazon forces the physical goods and the installation that goes with it into two separate orders which probably caused this problem.) I explained that they should have a refrigerator order to go with it in a few days.

A couple of days later, JB Hunt (Joe) called again saying that the refrigerator would be available for delivery about a week before Amazon indicated it would be. It was the same Joe who had been clueless a few days before, he then mentioned the previous call about the installation part of the order

I said OK, what time would they be at my house. "Between 8AM and 5PM." What? Even the notoriously shoddy cable companies now specify an hour for an appointment, not a day. But all is not lost. If I call after 3:30 PM the day before delivery they should be able to narrow it down to morning or afternoon. And they will give me a 30 minute warning, presumably so that I can empty the old refrigerator.

And said I, your work order includes the haul-away of the old refrigerator, does it not? "What," says JB Hunt in the person of Joe, "I don't see anything about that." So what are you going to do, I ask? "Nothing. You will have to contact Amazon."

I contacted Amazon and the Seller (JB Hunt) through the Amazon facilities, explaining that the local guy was denying that haul-away was part of the service. The next day I got a response from JB Hunt that they would explain it to the local guy, blah, blah, blah.

J.B. Hunt phoned bright and early the Monday after I ordered the refrigerator. From the beginning, they were wonderful and courteous. My contact, Jessica, out of the Hemet office (a good 60 miles from my home) was a dream. I had ordered and then found out I had to be out of town for three weeks and couldn't take delivery immediately. I explained to Jessica and was about to say I'd call her when I got back, but she took my info and promptly called me back as on the day I designated. She asked about steps and other basics and told me I'd receive a robo call the night before to tell me when the delivery truck would arrive.

The call came shortly after 4 pm, as promised, and delivery was to be between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. They arrived a little before noon, and were a dream. Clean, courteous, careful, and friendly, these guys knew what they were doing from start to finish. (My husband and I own a small business and are very adept at moving refrigerator-sized vending machines ourselves, so we tend to be pretty critical -- but there was nothing to criticize!)

We had them move our old refrigerator to the garage and install the new one. The guys were able to negotiate our tight steps and kitchen door without a scratch or bump. They got the refrigerator hooked up in record time and did it perfectly, then hauled away the packing material. All this with smiles and good cheer.

I've never had even a good experience with a delivery service before, only barely acceptable. The J.B. Hunt service is absolutely stellar!

This installation service has been the best we've ever received. The company called on a Monday and was able to deliver the fridge (Amana 18.5 cu. ft. Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator, ABB1921WEW, White) on Wednesday of the same week. I missed their call initially, and when I called back, I immediately reached a person at her direct number - no call centers, automated menues, etc. This was fast and efficient. They called on Tuesday with an automated message announcing a 4-hour delivery window, then followed up on Wednesday with a 1/2 hour prior-to-arrival reminder.

I wasn't present during the installation, and my wife usually hates dealing with any delivery/installation people when I'm not there. On top of that, I had originally told the company it would be going in a garage, but wanted my wife to ask if they could put it in the basement when they arrived. I know she wasn't looking forward to that!

When I called to check in on how things were going, she told me everything went fine. They measured our walkout, but it was too narrow, so they said they'd just take it down the basement steps. I know this wasn't easy - they're fairly narrow and don't have a lot of clearance at the bottom, but she said they were fine with doing it. She said they were clean, friendly, and had our 3-year old engaged and were talking to him as they were installing it. It was she who said they were the best delivery people we've had.

When I got home, I found the fridge in it's spot, plugged in, shelves installed, all the packing tape and materials completely removed. This fridge didn't have an ice-maker, so there weren't really any parts or "installation" required.
