Top Customer Reviews
I know it may seem apparent that one should know visually if the lens cap is on or off. But I find that on many cameras, I find myself reaching for the lens cap to remove it, only to find out it is already off...so I can end up touching the lens instead if the cap is the sort where the pinch mechanism is located closer to the center of the cap. With this cap, I avoid the problem.
P.S. They're VERY nice, but for an even greater professional image, I told them they need to have someone more fluent in written English communication/ grammar in order to be clear and possibly ensure future customers will always be at ease.
It do does have a string which the original lens cap didn't have. I'm going to keep this but I might look into a different design if I ever have to replace it.
The only issue was that when I threaded the thin string through the little hole in the lens cap I didn't know where (on the camera) to attach the string so that I would not loose the cap while taking pictures.
The most negative reviews were about the string that comes with the cap to secure it to the camera. I see absolutely no problem with it. I've been using it a little over two weeks. I think it's fantastic. It's strong. Its secure. It is long enough to tie it to the strap holder on my T2i. I am so glad I bought it. It was costing me a fortune to shell out 7 or 8 bucks for a Cannon lens cap everytime I lost one.
The only thing I did wrong (I didn't think it through) was purchase 2 caps (I have only 2 lens, thus one for each lens). One cap would have been sufficient, because it stays with the camera. I was thinking it was supposed to be tied to the lens somehow.
Anyway, I have an extra should I need it.
It was in descent quality. does feel a little cheap when you start paying attention to the details, but then, it was cheap, so I can't really complaint. when I first got the cap, I need to mess around with the string so it can attach to the cap the "right" way. it's part of my OCD acting up.
Overall, the item is in descent quality, the price is cheap, and it gets the job done.
(side note about having a lens cap hanging from the camera. It gets annoying after a while, because it forces you to put the cap back on every time after you use it. It's not good if you are between pictures and just carrying the camera on your shoulder, while the cap just dangles while attached to the camera and banging into everything as you walk. But this is what comes with what I wanted and has nothing to do with the item itself.)
