This product is the 2018 reformulated DGL from Enzymatic Therapy now using "GutGuard". This was originally a great DGL product until they changed it. Same price but 1/3 the dose and IMO tastes pretty bad. Sad.

I've used these for years and they've helped my heartburn and reflux a lot. But when they changed the flavor I was pretty mad. Used to be a German chocolate flavor. This new flavor is terrible and taste like chemicals. And they changed directions to take more than the old formula.

I was recently diagnosed with severe GERD in January after having an ulcer in my throat. After taking the PPI with the N word for two months, it was already no longer working. I could not drink or eat ANYTHING without pain. I wasn't sleeping, either. Even with my upper body elevated. That's how severe my heartburn was. Along with Mastica Gum I began using this at the suggestion of another review. It's only been a week and already I'm beginning to feel normal again. I can sleep, I can eat chocolate, I can eat citrus foods, and I can drink coffee. For the full effect, it will take 1-2 months, but these items are perfectly safe to use. The Rhizinate heals the damage caused by the acid. I cannot recommend these two items enough, I really can't. I even take this if I don't plan on eating and I just have some heartburn. It really does work. No more acid coming up.

*UPDATE*
After a month of using this, along with the Mastica Gum, back in April, I no longer have severe heartburn. I can eat anything, do anything, sleep, and live my life again. I truly feel completely healed. I still take the tablets every once in a while if I eat something really spicy, but that is really rare. I really cannot say how thankful I am for these products.

If you are like me and suffer from GERD then you know it can be a disease that is difficult to live with. Unlike a lot of people who experience GERD, i get asthma and coughing fits. This can be very scary at time for me. I am on multiple medications to help alleviate my symptoms. Often times, this is not enough. My doctor wanted me to try and go more natural and suggested Licorice might be helpful. He Specifically suggested a DCL and because of the product review Chose Rhizinate.

I've been using it a few weeks and notice a difference whenever I take it before eating. To be honest, I have noticed a difference even if I take it AFTER I eat. Which, because I am lazy is often the case. If you don't care for the taste of Licorice some say don't get it. But, the taste only lasts a few seconds and is worth it! Anyone who suffers from GERD knows it's better than coughing! I would recommend this along with any medications you are on currently or for those who are trying to get off medications.

This really helps with digestion, Rhizinate is one of many supplements useful in healing leaky gut. Integrative Therapeutics is a good brand for supplements, I purchase my Berberine and B-Complex from this brand also and have no complaints. It's less expensive to buy through Amazon than using some of the supplement vendor sites so I'm very happy about the price! The flavor is very pleasant initially but has a distinct aftertaste, I found this to be true of most licorice derivatives so it is nothing against the brand.

I just cannot say enough about this product. I’ve been using it for about 5 years now and cannot tell you the times this product has saved me from terrible digestive discomfort. I have to admit I’m a little bias as I’ve had a close working relationship with the company. I know the love, care, and quality that goes into making their products. I’m so glad that they have made this and other amazing supplements available to the public. This use to be a physician driven line you could only get through your doctor. These tablets contain the sweeteners SORBITOL and MANNITOL. Ugh. So for those looking for truly unsweetened DGL tablets, keep looking. Shame on me for not looking at the picture of the entire product label. Further, these tablets made me feel nauseous, which has never happened with ANY of the DGL products I've used in the past. Guess I'll stick with Vital Nutrients DGL powder and figure out a way to transport it so I can use it with all meals as directed.
