Working above an i5 3570K (not OC).
The computer's working on usually 31C environment.
THUS is was an issue to make it fit on my rig. It's a oneway only possible configuration, and not at first sight tetris game.
A new i7 4790k is 21-23C idle and 55-60C under load (Prime95), but the Arctic Silver thermal paste I used in place of Intel's is worth noting. Even has power supply options for daisy chaining if your board has only 1 connector.
Only con I can come up with is there appears to be no way to disable/remove the blue LED's without compromising the product/warranty - do you really want kill the bling though?
-Temps went from 60C idle to 36C idle. Stress test got to 81C max and general operations while using PC is about 50C.
-Quiet at full load.
-Installation is a serious pain.I have a nice chassis with a cut out on the back of the mobo so it was possible to hold while I screw in on top of fan. Or else the pins keep popping out while installing (docking a star for this).
-Amazon had this since this time of Methuselah. I opened the box with and there was dust on the fan. The worst part was the thermal paste was expired in 4/2014 while I got the unit in 12/2015. Not a huge deal, I had some Arctic 5 lying around and used that instead.
CPU idle temperature is 32C (Intel Desktop Utility) with 20C ambient room temperature.
With the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool running a 20 minute Level 8 CPU stress test internal temperature rose only 14C (47C below the internal maximum temperature).

Radically improved thermals over the stock solution with a 4790K. This fixed a stability issue, as well as thermal throttling issues I was experiencing.Read more
