PROS:
It is twice as fast as it needs to be to clear what I consider to be my ideal minimum performance threshold. It is very responsive. Upgraded from an AMD PhenomII and my wife- who didn't like me spending a couple hundred on a system overhaul- was happy with how much noticeably faster her computer experience is. Fast enough to be an entry-level gaming machine with the right video card and native DDR3 1600 RAM (8 GBs for gaming).

Very low power means low heat, which also means it is about silent with a cheap PWM aftermarket cooler that runs based on how hot this thing is. The fan only spins up when the computer turns on and when I am pushing the processor to its limits. The copper plate heat-sink by itself keeps it under 40C all by itself under typical loads. That is awesome.

Really very happy with it.

Looking to upgrade my system from AMD Phenom x3. Did lots of research to get the biggest bang for my buck. I am not a hardcore gamer but i like what I do play to run well. This is basically an Ivy Bridge i3 without hyper-threading, It blows my Phenom out of the water and it runs fast, cool and has handled everything I throw at it on Ultra without the slightest hiccup. In all honesty i don't think you can beat this processor for a value build. Highly recommend it. If you have the budget definitely get an i3, i5, or i7 but if not this is a great alternative.

I bought this lower end CPU for a home server that runs 24-7 it's dual core and runs at 3.1Ghz top speed and is not really overclockable (You can overclock it but you have to do it through the clock speed and not the number of clocks which has the very good possibility of making your PC unstable). Additionally it is equipped with the Intel HD2500 graphics. So for a low power server it is perfect. This has a TDP of 55 watts but when idle will throttle down to just 9.7 Watts. My entire server when operating one of it's six drives and serving information over the network only uses 62 Watts when idle it will use 42Watts and when it sleeps at night it uses only 3 watts. Maxed out with all drives spinning and CPU at 100% it will pull 117 Watts. With Electricity here at 26 cents per KWH this server only costs me $6 a month to run 24-7. My previous chip from the competition would cost me $11 a month to run because it could not throttle like this Intel does. Oh an a tip; I have replaced all my CPU's with Intel chips (3770K, 3470T, 3225, and the G2120), and they all do this throttle down technique however it is most prevalent in all ivy bridge series CPU's. Sandy bridge does not do it as well as Ivy. So if you're looking to save energy Ivy bridge is the way to go. This is coming from a previous AMD fanboy.

I don't really have that much to say about this except that I'm really glad I got it. For the price, it's extremely fast and nimble. I'm not sure I'd recommend it for gaming, but I'd certainly recommend it for just about anything else.

Built a rig that my son could play Sims, Sim City, Minecraft...etc on. He plays all his other action games on the Xbox but wanted something that he could use to start programming and doing YouTube video. This processor worked out great. He hasn't complained about anything lagging since I upgraded him to it.

I'm using it for a home server, so I didn't need a super powerful PC, and this came in at the same price point as the lower G2020 when I bought it, so I got a good deal.

Low-power at idle, the stock cooler keeps it cool even under full load since it doesn't generate much heat.

I wouldn't recommend buying it now unless you already have an LGA 1155 motherboard, since the new Haswell Pentiums came out at the same price and offer improved performance and practically zero power draw at idle (thanks to the new C-states).

If you're using a processor of this class, get a Solid State Drive for your operating system. Your computer will feel unbelievably snappy. You don't need a super-fast processor to have a super-responsive system.

This was an excellent purchase for my new machine. It was cheaper than at least two other sites selling the same item. I would purchase from Amazon again if I build a different machine. I would recommend this for beginner to intermediate computer users but not for gamers.

Well i ordered this product for my new board Asus P8B75-M. It's more that i spected, it moves powerfull games with high settings, I think that for the price is a very good prossesor. My only cons is when i'm installing powerfull games, my pc lags a little bit, but after that is great processor for gaming. (better if you have a good video card)

btw Amazon surprised me with a free promotional code for FFXIV, with 30 days free of the game only for bought this processor!!
right now im playing the game with ultra settings!!, im really amazed!!

my recomendation is, if you want build a new pc with a few bucks this is your best option.
