Intel Turbo Memory lets your notebook actually learn your habits to provide better system response. Thats because it stores frequently used information near the processor, where its more quickly available. CPUs run better with Intel Turbo Memory.Intel Turbo Memory is a primary PC component, along with the CPU, chipset, and system memory. It caches large amounts of frequently used data for faster access by the processor. This decreases the need for hard-disk accesses, saving both time and power, which equates to increased performance and energy efficiency.
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I have been playing with my Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop. This is one of the last adjustments I'll be making. I have upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 64-Bit Operating System. I have upgraded from 4 Gig RAM to 6 Gig RAM. I have replaced the Intel 4965AGN WiFi Adapter to the Intel 5300AGN WiFi adapter. So far so good. I have added this memory card module and it started to work as soon as the correct drivers were installed from the Intel Website. May add a 2nd module in the remaining bay. Hopefully be able to see the differences, if any.
This was only a viable piece of tech back In Windows Vista. Don't waste your time. No Windows 7 support by PC manufacturers. I have a couple Dell laptops M6300/M6500 with Flash Cache bays. The tech is old and has been supplanted by faster more capable SSD drives. I tried back pedaling to Vista on a spare drive, and AHCI was not supported by the OS, leaving me to boot into ATA, just to get the Turbo Memory driver installed. The whole thing was a waste of time. Get a Hybrid Seagate 1TB drive and you get 8 GB of Solid State flash mated to a fast disk drive. which out performs the turbo memory anyway. HP never was sold on the Tech because testing showed that a USB flash drive performed about as well in Ready Boost as the Intel Turbo Memory.
This product does not make your system boot up faster but it will help you to speed up a little bit during your system recover from hibernate.
The only best thing about this product is that it reduce the need to access the HDD significantly (Maybe able to expand HDD life span and save some power?).
Basically the software on the included CD is very very out of date. Make sure you download the latest version from Intel's website. I originally tried installing from the included CD but my computer refused to restart after that (a system recovery got me up and running with relative ease). Now I have it installed and working on my Dell Studio 1535 laptop but the question now is it doing anything? The truth is I have no idea. The Turbo Memory Console says that ReadyBoost and ReadyDrive are both enabled but I have yet to notice any difference. It must be doing something though...
According to the demo video on Intel's website I am supposed to be able to select what programs I want to "boost" but that is not available to me. They must have gotten rid of it in this most recent software version I have.
the product works like a champ, just be warned before buying you will need more than a 1gb to see a real boost in performance, and be sure you are running ONLY windows vista, it will only be compatible with the vista os
The hardware installation of the item is easy but the software will not install. I keep getting the bluescreen of death when I try to install the drivers.
Installed this on an Inspiron 1420 and didn't notice much difference in performance. Only booted up about 2-3 second faster and that's it. The 4GB RAM upgrade is more worthy of considering.
Eingebaut, wurde auch wunderbar erkannt und von Windows Vista für Ready Boost verwendet. Konnte aber keinerlei Unterschied beim Windows oder Programmstart feststellen :(.
