Studio 1535 Compatible

My Dell Studio 1535 Broadcom wireless-n card didn't work for over a year on Windows XP or Windows 7. Bought the Intel Wifi Link 5300 half-height as a wireless card upgrade, after reading customer reviews that it's Studio 1535 compatible. EUREKA!!! Easy install. (On a different device, i watched an install video for guidance. I needed a small-sized phillips-head screwdriver for the cover screws, and a slightly smaller one for the wireless card screw. Also, be sure to match the colored wire connectors to the colored triangles. There will be 3 wires connected now instead of 2.) I thought I might have to still connect to the internet with a cord to download drivers. Nope. Just turned on my computer, the wireless card software installed itself, and VOILA - instant internet. After over a year of trying this & that ... THANK YOU INTEL FOR A QUALITY PRODUCT.

Great "N" Reception

I upgraded the WiFi card on a family member's HP. I did have to order spare antennas for this card as it has 3 u.Fl connectors, not 2 like the stock laptop came with. I also had to buy a mounting bracket because this card is the half height card. The WiFi signals on my home network didn't change, but the amount of SSID's I picked up was a big difference. I was the only SSID on the block with my old WiFi card, I can now pick up 4. The card itself is great, but the drivers, especially the Intel MiWifi drivers are horrible. This is with the 12.9 Drivers. Hopefully it has been fixed by the time you read this. When you install this card, you will have an additional card in "my networks" or "my adapters" on your Windows PC because of the MiWifi. It basically allows you to connect to printers or, even share your Internet connection with phones, etc.

Overall, this is a great product if you want faster speed, and greater reception.

Works well but a few issues with the drivers (windows 10) On some starts, it simply doesn't register. A simply restart always resolves issues. Happens probably <10% of boots. Nice speeds on 5Ghz speeds, meh speeds on 2.4 Ghz band. Maybe a lot of interference on that frequency, although neighbors are kind of far.

Bought this as a replacement card for my Broadcomm 4322 Chipset in my Dell Studio 1737. Replaced card, and Ubuntu (10.04) recognized this Intel 5300 instantly, did not even need to install drivers. Just worked, out of the box.
Broadcomm adapters are still a little flaky with Linux, if your having trouble I would recommend giving this a try.
This was also recognized with Win Vista (dual boot) after downloading driver software from the Intel site.
Very stable in Ubuntu 10.04.

Replaced dead atheros half mini PCIe nic in Acer D250 netbook with this beast. Only two antennas are installed in netbook so I hooked them up to ports 1 and 2 on the new Intel nic. Reassmebled netbook and started Windows 7. Immediately detected Intel 5300 nic and loaded default drivers. Was able to connect to home 5Ghz network based off of Linksys Maximum Performance Dual-Band N900 Router (E4200 v2) and download latest drivers from Intel.

The 5300 works like a champ. Regularly get 300 Mbps across the house. Makes decent pie too.

I have a toshiba a665-s6070 the customer service rep at toshiba told me that I couldn't upgrade my wifi card in this laptop. But if anyone else has this computer it can be done the only thing is the stock antennas there is only 2 of them and this card has connectors for three antennas I hooked the 2 outside connectors up and it seams to work fine I do plan I installing a third I just haven't had the time to do so.
