A massive upgrade
I bought this card for my desktop PC after my old Windows XP era USB card died. I knew jump forward a decade in WiFi technology would be a large leap, but wow, I wasn't expecting such a huge leap! My Steam download speeds have nearly tripled! From 5MB/s (yes, mega bytes, not bits) to 12.6! I didn't realize how tiny this card was, especially compared to my old Netgear WNDA3100v2.Note that to use this card in a desktop PC, you will need an adapter. I'm using the "Fenvi Desktop Wireless Network M.2(NGFF) Wireless Card to PCI-e 1X Adapter Converter".At first, Windows 10 didn't have the drivers for it, but I just used USB tethering on my smartphone, and once it had a connection Windows sorted it out.Fenvi Desktop Wireless Network M.2(NGFF) Wireless Card to PCI-e 1X Adapter Converter(Not Including Networking Card) Compact Intel 7260 8260 3160 9260 9265 NGFF M.2 ECT Windows 7, 8, 10

I bought this wifi chip in 2022 for my PC as an upgrade from the Intel AC 7265 (Revision D) wifi chip that was in my system previously. Installing the wifi chip into my PC and then installing the drivers for it afterwards wasn't hard and it has worked perfectly fine for me without any issues.

I bought 2 of these cards to replace a Killer 1435 from an Alienware 17R4 and an Asus ROG Z370-i mini itx board.

The cards is working very good, with no drop outs, a very high average connection speed and no weird problems, glitches or whatever.

I have a complain though, this card receives a very poor signal in both computers, and compared to 2 different wifi cards (one Realtek/Qualcomm and the Killer 1435).

Have used this chipset type for several years on several laptops running Linux. Plug and play and reliable. Obviously lots of sellers slap their own name or logo on a common part. I've never had one of these not work.

If you buy a recent laptop that comes with Wi-Fi 6E, as I did, you may find that many Linux distributions don't work well with the new Intel Wi-Fi 6E chipsets. At one point, kernel 5.18 sort of work but could be unreliable. Then it seemed support completely went down. I tried again with kernel 6.5, and Wi-Fi 6E sort of work but a Bluetooth wouldn't. Anyhow end result was to just pull the card and replace it with this one and all is well.

I bought an HP laptop a few months ago. Nice laptop, but I wasn't a fan of the Windows 11 OS installed on it. I decided to upgrade the Storage, the RAM and switch to a Linux OS (LMDE).

Everything went smoothly, until I got to the Wi-Fi. The laptop wouldn't detect my Wi-Fi router. After trying a few "fixes" suggested online, I decided I wasn't wasting any more time going that route.

There was a Realtek Wi-Fi card installed on my laptop. It turns out Realtek cards don't always work well with Linux, so I looked for a replacement.
I found and ordered this item for about $16. I installed it and booted up my laptop. This card immediately detected my Wi-Fi router and I'm good to go.

If you are comfortable opening up a laptop, this is a pretty simple job switching out the Wi-Fi cards. The laptop's 2 wire connectors are tiny and a bit fiddly, so if you have old eyes and sausage fingers like myself, a magnifying glass and some needle nose pliers might be helpful. Just remember if your device is still under warranty, you will most likely be voiding it.

Now my Linux HP laptop can wirelessly connect to the internet, 5 stars!

Well, I have an MSI GS60 laptop that I bought back in 2015 that came with a Killer 1525 wifi card. That card has always been flaky and completely unreliable. Last week Windows 10 would no longer recognize it, so I did some research and finally settled on the Intel 9620 as the replacement. I got it today, and in less than 30 min, I had it installed and I was back on the internet. After installing, I went to device manager and right clicked the unrecognized network card and told Windows to 10 update the drive by searching online (Since the card went out last week, I have had the laptop hard wired to my router with a shielded CAT7 cable--kudos to laptop companies that still put RJ45 ports on their laptops, because wifi is NOT an option sometimes). Within less than 30 seconds it had found the driver and then downloaded and installed it. I rebooted and when I got back to the desktop, I launched the wifi network connection thingy, selected my network, typed in the password, and that was it. I am in wifi heaven. Superfast speed and so far no hiccups, and especially no drops or slowdowns. I loveeeeeeeeee this card. Makes me wish the 1525 had broken sooner. My only complaint is that they don't have bluetooth 5.0 available for this card.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great in Dell XPS 9560 - But SWAP THE CABLES
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 1, 2020
I bought this to replace the burning train wreck that is the Killer 1535 included in my XPS 9560. I'm not sure what Dell was thinking there, as the Killer chip boasted frequent disconnects for no apparent reason and completely ignored manual roaming aggressiveness rules, choosing to hop WiFi to some public network whenever it feels like it. An example of this is when you're tethering WiFi from your phone whilst on the train. If you go through a tunnel for more than 20 seconds, the Killer chip will decide to DISCONNECT even if it's managed to establish a working connection again! Anywho, this Intel chip was relatively easy to install. The only note is that Dell has the cable colours wrong so you'll want to swap round the antenna cable colours that the chip asks for. i..e Use BLACK for Main and use WHITE for Aux. Upload bandwidth over WiFi is significantly improved compared to the Killer chip. I can upload big files to my NAS over WiFi from the other side of the house now at 60 MBps (Yes, MegaBYTES). The Killer only did about 35 Mbps. Also, no driver install was necessary. The WiFi & Bluetooth just worked as soon as I turned the laptop back on (I assume Windows 10 includes native support).
