Cheap, fast-shipping, and works as advertised.
This is a replacement for an earlier and older WiFi card.
My laptop has the older two wire antenna and so the middle antenna connection is left unconnected and it works just fine with that kind of setup.
Windows 7 x64 detected and downloaded the correct driver and it was ready to go in about 30 seconds after power-up.
Laptop is a Lenovo 3000 C200

Installed this card in a 6 year old Dell Inspiron E1505. Rebuilding this laptop, installed 500GB 7,200 rpm hard drive, new memory (2 GB) and of course this wireless card. Expectations were low as the laptop is very old. I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 onto the laptop (was too dilapidated for Windows 7), the existing wireless card was dropping intermittently and too inconsistent to use. Had to install new card from the keyboard side. Once installed, I booted the machine, and Ubuntu picked up the new device immediately (drivers? Who needs drivers when you have Ubuntu!)! Went to connect to my access point, and also saw 12 different access points (previously only seen mine and the next door neighbor). Connected to access point, and subsequently browsed the Internet at speeds I never thought possible for this machine!

Great card! If you are sick and tired of Windows, look into getting Ubuntu, it truly does know how to treat your computer! If this WI-FI card is compatible with your computer - GET IT!

I bought this wireless network card to replace an Intel PRO Wireless 3945ABG that came with my Dell laptop. The difference between the two is night and day. I used to be lucky to get one bar of connectivity in my building with the old card, but I routinely get three if not four bars with the new card. No more disconnects because of poor signal strength, and the install was easy as pie. Considering the price, I highly recommend this card to anyone thinking about an upgrade or a replacement.

Fast & stable 300Mbps @5GHz, easy install, cheap.

Fast and easy to install, big improvement over my previous card, and cheap. Wish there were more things in life like that.
I almost never give five stars, but this one deserved it. Upgraded my Dell Vostro 1310's Intel 3965 2x2 adapter with this one. Really easy to install, and to my surprise the notebook had a third antenna cable (!) although the previous card only had two connectors. The card is "full length", no need for any adapter while replacing my 3965. Windows 8.1 used for this 4965 the same driver it previously installed for the 3965 (no need to re-install anything). Regarding this 4965, no difference between connecting 2 or 3 of the antennas (so never mind if your notebook only has 2), but what a big improvement while connected to a Linksys E4200 v.1! Used to connect at 54Mbs @2.4GHz: now, with the same strength, I can go 150Mbs @2.4GHz from any floor of our three store house. When on the same floor as my router, it easily achieves 300Mbps @5GHz. Sustained downloads from a NAS through a 1Gbps hard wired connection jumped to ~16MB/s (big upgrade from the previous 2-3MB/s achieved with the 3965).
Go get one!

Was using Microsoft Windows 8.1 built in drivers. After updating to drivers dowonloaded from Intel's site, a bit of an improvement: max speed from NAS is ~20MB/s now.
- 14 jun 2014 update -
For some reason, Ubuntu 14.04 64bit drivers only connect at much slower speeds than Windows'. Never over 130Mbps @5GHz nor 60Mbps @2.4GHz. That's about half the speed I get with Windows!

Setup took some tinkering to get full 300Mbps

I picked up this adapter (Intel 4965-AGN) to replace a Dell 1505 wireless card that had gone bad.
The notebook is a Vostro 1500,over 5 years old.
My old card was getting 270Mbps, but when I installed this card with the latest drivers,
I could only get 144Mbps, no matter what I did with the setup, 144 was all I could get with it
on the 2.4Ghz band.
Since my router is a dual band Netgear N600, I moved it to the 5Ghz band, and now get the full
300Mbps from the card. Awesome!

If you don't have a dual band router, good luck with getting it to run any faster than 144Mbs! (Vista-32bit)

For $14 this is a great deal! As old as the notebook is, I was thinking of just buying a new one,
but now am happy I didn't!
In addition to the 2 antenna wires already used, make sure to use the grey wire to connect to the middle antenna connection, it is tucked away next to the card in the Vostro 1500.

Perfect Wireless Upgrade to Wireless-N for my Gateway M6827

I ordered this to replace an existing Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 (ABG) in my Gateway M-6827 laptop. I had recently upgraded to Verizon FIOS internet service and my existing wireless card did not work well with my FIOS Router (I kept getting only one or two bars strengh only 2 feet from the FIOS router!!). I downloaded the latest drivers and Intel Wireless Application on to my Gateway laptop prior to removing my old card and physically installing the new Intel 4965AGN NextGen Wireless PCIe Mini Card Network Adaptor. The new Intel 4965AGN wireless card went right into the spot from my old wireless card, connected two existing antenna wires to Connection 1 and 2 on the new card, replaced the two small screws to lock the card in place, and then put the cover back on the bottom of the laptop. I then restarted and Windows Vista automatically recognized the new hardware and loaded an older driver. I then went into Device Manager found the Intel 4965AGN Wireless Network Card and disabled card and removed the older driver. Then I ran the Intel Application to install the new Intel 4965AGN Wireless Network Card and the latest drivers. I then restarted my laptop and logged into my FIOS network and router, and reentered the WPA key. Now I have a steady 5 bars of strength (no fluctuations at all!!), and ran the Speedtest for Verizon FIOS -- Amazingly fast 35-42 MBps for both download and upload speeds or nearly 10x faster than my old Intel 3945ABG wireless card!!). I strongly recommend the Intel 4965AGN Next-Gen Wireless-N PCIe Minin Card Network Adaptor, especially with how inexpensive and easily installed upgrade.
